The Austrian Oak's "comeback" has been fettered with box office bombs and embarrassing video game endorsements. Looks like the low ratings for "The New Apprentice" is just another wedding tackle in the "Arnold,-stop-trying-to-be-on-top-again-and-either-quit-altogether-or-seek-out-supporting-roles" axe wound.

I guess the public has now gone off the US Apprentice, seeing the horror it ultimately wrought the last time round...

The result from this one would never be the same from the last one, considering that pesky law where Arnie can never be president. He has that in common with Hilary. The one saving grace in his favor is he doesn't have to potentially embarrass himself by losing, like Hills has done twice.

She's set for life with her earnings/royalties from Friends. And out of every one of the cast, she's been the most successful in film.

Yeah every time I go to a grocery store I see Jennifer Aniston's face on the cover of a magazine every single day for decades.

Those product endorsements probably secured an extra 2 years of living the good life for just a few days (in some instances, hours) of work.

Blame Stallone. His Excretables films were garbage. But Conan 3 may be ok if it ever gets made.

I don't know if you can blame the Expandable films for Arnie's major losses. He was already slipping a wee bit by the time he left the movies in the early 2000's.
I think the failure of that last Terminator film sealed the deal for KING CONAN.
Anything's possible, I suppose.

He should be in the new Predator film, except it's directed by the horrible Shane (Iron Man 3) Black.

I'm a huge fan of Conan the Barbarian and I liked the Arnold movie more even though I think Jason Mamoa looked more like the character based on artwork.

Though Robert E. Howard, the writer of Conan, was a racist so I don't know how he would have reacted to half-breed Mamoa playing his Celtic superhuman....

CTB is awesome. If a sequel is half as good it will be worthwhile.

He seems more interested in politics than movies. He disappeared for a near decade into obscurity for most of the American public that weren't denizens of California.

Bodybuilding, movies, being governor. It's all the same thing. He loves to showboat and be the man. He would never want some political post that required him to do actual work that doesn't involve talking to reporters and having his picture taken everyday.

His film career had already dropped off by then, and he complained he had a hard time getting parts after his open heart surgery because nobody wanted to insure him. Running for Governor was the biggest thing he could do at the time.

The only thing he hasn't tried yet is a TV series, or producing/directing....that should be a laugh riot....

He's trying tv out right now. And he's tanking hard.

It won't matter. Many film and TV makers want him. It's his fault if he can't pick the right projects. But he'll keep being offered until he finds the right one. Maybe it will have to be a supporting role like you said, but there will be something.

But he's got that sweet gig in those commercials for that game what-ever-the-hell it's called.
