How often do you read Wikipedia when it comes to films?

I do all the time, much more than The Internet Movie Database, even. It is a great source to read about a film's production history, its critical and commercial reception, and so on. Sometimes I don't realise just how often I frequent Wikipedia when it comes to films, actors, cinematographers, editors and directors. I have learnt and acquired so much general information off it.

I'd be lost without it.

Congratulations, you'd reached years of a sad life on Wikipedia with pretentiousness.

More than any other source by a country mile.

I realize there can in inaccuracies but It's such an easy quick read if I'm looking for a plot description, cast or other basic information.

I don't really enjoy reading information much, so not often at all. Plus wikipedia sometimes gets things wrong.

Yes, for the plot descriptions.

Nowhere near as much as XFiles. As for me, not a lot really. You can't trust it.

Agree, i can't stand watching a movie before looking some info about it on Wikipedia.

I like to read the synopsis of the movie while I'm watching it. It helps to better understand the movie.

i use three Internet Movie Database, wikipedia & youtube all at once i look at the Internet Movie Database & wiki first then check out a trailer & if it isn't there i use google to hunt for some lost footage & discussions etc on forums & you know the rest.

All the time, for every single movie. Do I prefer reading up after I've seen the film, in case of spoilers.

I use it all the time for when I'm in need of a plot synopsis and when I want to take a look at a certain director's or actor's filmography. When it comes to a film's reception, I use Internet Movie Database or Metacritic. Never Rotten Tomatoes. Ick.

All the time - after every film, now. There's often some great production info on there, so it makes for a good overview to put a cap on everything.

Quite often. I love Wikipedia but I often see a lot of disdain against it because 'anyone' can edit it.

Hardly ever
15 Name: Anonymous : 2017-01-01 19:28
Never. It's unreliable.

I do it after I watch movies (especially big classics where I assume there will be a substantial article) to read about the movie's background.

If I see a punctuation mistake I can't ignore it, so I find myself editing it. I see a hell of a lot of them.

Fuck Wikipedia the mods are assholes, I tried looking for films on Wikipedia only to find out the asshole mods have deleted the page of 1000s of film for no-good fucking reasons.
