I like how the alien figured it'd horrifically yet comedically position its tail spike as if it were about to fuck the naked girl in the shower. Primitive thinking hive mind animals would def set up that strictly for-the-audience shot instinctively, 10/10 such believable.

Was shot from original film. He alien was always a malevolent sadist, the original film is about sexualised violence. Aliens made them hivelike, Scott's xeno was always closer to evil.

Looks like a lame, modern rehashing of the Alien franchise. I wouldn't be surprised if it was better than Resurection, but not by much. If they get as gross as that movie I won't care much though.

People on the Covenant youtube comments are going nuts on anybody who doesn't praise this trailer to the high heavens so hopefully I won't get chastised too badly for this here as well but...I'm extremely underwhelmed by that trailer. It just looks very flat and uninteresting. There's no dynamic lighting, the production design looks about as generic as a Sy-Fy channel movie, and the shower scene reeks of cliche. I love Ridley Scott's Alien, and I think Prometheus is pretty underrated movie, but this movie just looks...cheap.

I'm negative on this one.

I now wish Blomkamp got the job, because at least it would look interesting and not so begrudgingly sterile as the image Scott is giving us with this trailer.

I always looked at it as an ambush predator. Even when it approaches Lambert, it's trying to corner her and hook her with its tail. It's awkward in the moments where it is most exposed, because it's so used to lying in wait and springing a trap.

The script in Prometheus was so horrendously bad, it is completely irrelevant whether someone likes Ridley Scott or not. I was constantly looking at the screen with utterly disbelief at the stupidity of it all.

One of the dumbest big Hollywood blockbusters that I ever saw. Ever.

I had no hopes for it at all because a) it had to live up to Alien and b) Ridley Scott's only made two truly great flicks, way, way back, imo.

What I got was a fairly standard sci-fi horror thriller flick with nice production values. Like seriously, I'm certain I've seen dumb shit on par with Prometheus' in bad horror films before.
