Bring back the Hays Code where you couldn't put a man and a woman on a bed together. It's not that I'm a prude, but Hollywood is just so BAD at them. They do these ridiculous cliched, "sex montage"s, which through quick-cut editing try to convey "wild passion", but are usually just intended to disguise the fact that the prissy actress has a "no-nudity clause" and they're legally obligated to conceal her goodies. Compare that to say a FRENCH movie where they realistically shoot sex scenes and they could give a damn if the actress's nipples or pubic hair pops into view, and even if the actor gets an erection, they just go with it.

I kind of agreed that the sex scenes in the French film "Blue is the Warmest Color" were a little overwrought. But if you think about it, that's because they're basically HOLLYWOOD sex montages, but longer and with actual nudity. (And God knows, I don't want to see Lea Seydoux and Adele Exarchopolous actually naked when they're having lesbian sex. I'm an American!)

I don't know what Hollywood is best at. It might be CGI-happy, PG-13 superhero movies for virginal teenage fanboys. It might more prestigious Oscar-bait and (over)acting showcases. But they should just stay away from movies involving sex or sex scenes in general because I don't think they've done one worth a damn since "Don't Look Now" or "Coming Home" in the 1970's. A man's gotta know his limitations. . .

I see where your coming from but I think it's stupid, no offense. Here is why.

It should be up to the writers and filmmakers to decide to include a sex scene or not and how they want to film it.

Hollywood used to do "romance scenes" and did them well. In the "good olde days" things often worked because imagination is more effective than detail.

Casablanca comes to mind. When Rick and Ilsa fade out and next we see them we just don't know what happened in the interum. Romance rekindled ? They are no longer angry, in any case.

Considering the amount of sex scenes (or rather, the lack thereof) in most Hollywood movies, I would say this is hardly a big issue.
