Hardcore Pawn TV show

Anybody watch this show. It is a 'reality' but you can tell it is scripted. It is kind of fun. Les the owner is great I truly believe he would take you out to the parking lot and kick your ass.

Well agree to disagree on this one anon; I think it is one of the worst things I have ever seen. The owners are proud scumbags and the show is geared towards racist old men. Even the pun in the title is stolen from Pawn Stars, which is actually a good show. It's definitely no Antiques Roadshow.

They employ people of different races. Les is an older guy and he may have some bad views. But he does not bring it to the sales floor. But I have only seen a few episodes.

I do love people that walk in and think their piece of jewelry is one of kind and made out exotic metals and or fake gem stones.

It sure is the favorite TV show of racist old men though! I first heard about it from eavesdropping a couple of them at a DD outside of Philly, they were talking about how "those people" all "act like animals" and they were using scenes from the show to back up their argument. I looked it up later and from what little I saw it seemed like a show about some guys who use every trick in the book to cheat incredibly poor people out of their valuables, and in some cases turn to the camera to brag about how they tricked some guy into thinking his family heirloom is worthless when he actually could have sold it for a fair amount of money.

As reality TV goes I stick to Finding Bigfoot, maybe the most entertaining show on television (albeit for all the wrong reasons).

Philly the show is in the Chicago area

Finding Bigfoot is half decent as a comedy show

A money hungry Jew audiences will hate?

His name is Les Gold? In real life he's probably Irish or Iranian.

Not sure on the last name. I guess it would be a stage name.

One of the very few reality shows I really like. Real or fake it a lot of fun to watch.

I'm guessing you're correct that a bunch of racist old white men like the show.

But I've seen enough episodes that they don't do anything to try and cheat anyone out of money.

They run a business and run it fair and square.

anon,

Ive watched some shows and it ran its course pretty quick.

Like Pawn Stars, Antiques Road Show and American Pickers one does learn some things about history and values.

How is it scripted?

The general public is selected to go in the store. They are told to over react to every little thing. Some of the people it seems like they wrote what to say on their hands. Even special props are used as things to be pawned.

It sucks, it's just the father arguing with his two grown kids. Pawn Stars is a lot more fun.

You have to give a go even for a few minutes.
