Ironically enough -- for a long time -- I was against sex being in my films. I really don't even like graphic or rated R movies.

But now I've developed deep emotions on the conflicts of sexuality and spirituality. I realized I practiced abstinence too long, and now I my sex drive and emotions drive me to tell stories about sexuality with sex scenes that are both intense, delicate, and extensive.

If there's art in everything, maybe that can be done with erotica? If I can bring the same level of storytelling that's in the 'Walking Dead' or 'A Clockwork Orange' and bring that to erotica, maybe I can bring it to a new light? I'd aim high to do so in a way that even strict conservatives could respect.

Up until now, I've always been disgusted by sex scenes; but being too conservative has brought me problems. After paying a price, I now I want to make art that embraces it: Sex positive erotica; soft-core porn that aims to be art.

One story is feature-length: It's about a strict Christian who fears sex and homosexuality, and who becomes attracted to a wild promiscuous atheist who fears religion. While the Christian struggles with her high sex drive, the atheist sees miracles and visions of Mary Magdalene. The title pending is 'Spirit and the King'. It's a drama and a lingerie fantasy. I'd aim for big actors, and expect a NC-17 rating.

The other is an called 'The Erotic Numbers': An series where each show is given a number rather than a name. Each story is separate and unrelated (Like the Twilight Zone or Final Fantasy) - but as the show progresses, we learn that each girl is living out a story in the same time and location as the others (just a different perspective). While one episode will focus on a character, we may see her in the back in the next, then interact with others later. As the high point, we see how their lives intertwine. It'd be about 50 stories based on the same day - but different characters. I'd imagine this sit well on Cinemax or Netflix.

I'm working on a science-fiction comedy short now, and I'm really thinking of making it an erotica. I want to use this to start my career.

The goal is to make erotic art. Stories that arouse and have the goal of getting you to masturbate as well as emoting, enlightening, and provoking thought. Bad idea?

I think I've really got my heart into this.

Sounds interesting, plus I love sex! Sex is great, I want more sex in cinema, please put more sex in your movies. There should be more nude woman in movies, what aren't there more nude women in movies? I want to see boobs, give me more boobs. In all seriousness though (as though I wasn't already being serious), I think both concepts are very interesting. I would watch both.

Arthouse erotica is one of my favorite type of films. So, definitely go for it. Here are a few of my favorite arthouse erotica films:

Salo - although extremely disturbing, it still deals with sex in a very explicit manner

Russ Meyer films - although, he is often considered trash, he is an extremely stylish director that makes movies with, often, heavy thematic concerns (even if the tone of his films are often humorous and bawdy)

Radley Metzger films - especailly Therese and Isabelle, The Opening of Misty Beethoven, and The Image
The Last Tango in Paris
Anatomy of Hell - arguably erotica, its definitely sexually explicit, but more the sex isn't meant exactly to titulate

There are a few Jean Rollin films I would consider both erotic and arthouse (although, many don't find his films very good and would classify them as trash)

You might also like Nymphomaniac by Lars von Trier and Blue is the Warmest Color. I liked the Nymphomaniac films okay, but they aren't my favorite von Trier films, and I wasn't too fond of Blue, but a lot of people love it.

I've recently saw 'Nymphomaniac' - and wow, I really didn't like it. I'll watch 'Blue is the Warmest Color' - but I know that Léa Seydoux didn't want to do the sex scenes, and the other didn't like them either; and to me, that's exploitation. But I think it's still worthy of viewing. I saw her in 'Spectre' last night, and I loved it.

Take a look at Walerian Borowczyk's La bête (1975), Les héroïnes du mal (1979), and Docteur Jekyll et les femmes (1981).
