Triumph of The Will imagery? Attack of The Clones.

The Triumph of The Will imagery at the end of Attack of The Clones

Probably my favorite and best executed scene in the Star Wars prequels.

It actually works! You can feel the weight of a republic falling to a totalitarian regime in a few visuals and the familiar Imperial March theme.

Yeah, it's clearly an extension of the idea he used at the end of the first film:

The thing I like about the AOTC scene the most however is the 'blurring of the lines'. We should be looking at these soldiers as heralds of bad things (and indeed some characters do give the impression that's how they feel). However, the overriding impression from the scene among the spectators is one of pride and satisfaction, as though this army is going to solve everyone's problems and bring peace and security to the galaxy.

In that way it also echoes Triumph des Willens (1935) in that we often consider it as some sort of scary/horrific 'rise of evil' documentary, when at it's essence it was really meant to be a scenes of a country showing pride in itself.
