Knowledge they did not know prior to the prequels ( Comic releif side kick characters )

I'm not a nerd, but I'm a big fan of the first 2 films and the 3rd was OK.

Why are there so many dumbasses who act like jerks just because some people like a franchise a lot and get excited for new movies?
