Bond films nail themselves further into their own coffin.

Sam Smith adds his Austin Powers style spoof theme to Spectre.

And still, the Craig apologists will try to convince themselves that everything is fine and they do indeed LOVE the new song.

It's amusing watching people finally wake up to my warnings.

Yes. I agree. I did not like it either.

'Sam Smith?' Who is he? Is this some sort of joke? At least I had heard of Adele.

It shows, Sam. It shows.

It's decent but Skyfall had the better hook and intoxicating music.

The James Bond movies sure are making a lot of money.
The following are worldwide gross.

Casino Royale $599 million
Quantum of Solace $586 million
Skyfall $1,108 million

And, before you respond with something along the lines of, "Money means nothing -- the only thing that matters is *MY* opinion.", please be aware that the makers of Bond films feel EXACTLY the opposite. No matter how much you whine & cry, Bond films with Daniel Craig will continue as long as they gross 100s of millions of dollars. So you might want to whine & cry about something else.

Even apologists like yourself cannot argue against this.

I watched the first seventeen Bond feature films -- Dr No to License to Kill -- in the theaters. But I've not watched any of them since, until they came on cable TV. Plain and simple, Bond doesn't interest me much anymore. Thus, to call me an apologist is incredibly misinformed, if not outright stupid. I have no idea if I'll like Spectre or its theme song (I haven't heard it yet), as I have better things to do with my time & money. Among such things is calling out ignorant people for their moronic statements.

I'm also intelligent enough to recognize that the Bond franchise is making tons of money, and will thus continue as long as the gravy train continues. I hate to be the one to tell you, but the makers of Bond films don't care SQUAT about your opinion, as long as the rest of the world buys the tickets. It's VERY far from being laid into a coffin. To think otherwise is to be a complete fool.

I again suggest you whine & moan about something else. Or at least admit that your whining & moaning will accomplish nothing.

>>9 you once commended nazi Germany for its anti-smoking laws, and now Craig Bond? Have you no shame?

I don't recall commending the Bond films of late. How could I commend films I don't even bother to watch? I simply recognize that, despite my near-complete lack of interest in Bond films at the present time, the franchise is making tons of money. And that's the ONLY thing the film-makers care about.

It's all over for Bond, now.

It's all over.

Just shut up already.
14 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-26 21:22
Wait, are you suggesting in there that if you like the Craig/Bond movies it makes you an apologist?
15 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-26 21:29
Yes.

Advocating destruction.
16 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-26 21:33
It's crap, Sam Smith is crap, crap is crap.
17 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-26 21:39
The song is absolute pants, I'll give you that, but they're only a very, very small part of the package.
18 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-26 21:44
In which way is it Austin Powers like?
19 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-26 21:48
The orchestration and melody is trying so self consciously hard to be Bond like that it comes across as a spoof.

More proof that these new films are mimicking elements from the proper James Bond films while at the same time being nothing like them and not wanting to be.

Confusion. Utter confusion. And incompetence. And destruction.

It's all over.

Just got done listening to this myself and, my God, my first impression is that it's the worst of all the Bond songs. My hope is that the song goes well with the opening credits because I wasn't a huge fan of Skyfall at first (didn't hate it, though), but it worked really well with the opening sequence. I didn't really know anything on Smith other than my sister telling me he's a horrible singer, and having listened to this one song, I'm finding it hard to disagree with her.

He has the most unfortunate un-showbizy name in pop star history. Could of at least changed his surname to Dildo or something.

And yes, the song sucks so it should go well with the rest of the warbling load of *beep* on his debut album.

FILMS I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO:
-Black Mass
-The Revenant
-The Martian
-Hail Ceasar
-The Irishman

It took Smith just 20 minutes to write the themes.
That's about 15 minutes more than any viewing of any stupid Bond film should be.

It's time to sing good night to that ridiculous, misogynistic, imperialistic, nonsensical franchise.

blamed/blamed/maggie/SEAN, you are perfectly well aware that I'm not sfbe-sean, so stop embarassing yourself by pretending otherwise.

Shut the fuck up sfbe. You have no credibility here and you're beating a dead horse at this point. No body cares.
