How long will Tom Hardy's reign of terror last for ?

He is very overrated at least to me now I wouldn't say he is Stallone bad but he is not up there with the greats. He was terrible in Fury Road, The Dark Knight Rises and Bronson.

This thread may be extremely painful .... for you.

Disagreeing with this >>1 isn't good enough.

Your punishment must be more severe...

I think I've only seen him in Bronson, Inception, and TDKR, and I thought he was terrific in all of them.

Take a drink every time the OP throws Stallone under the bus.

I think I have finally disagreed with you anon. It was a good run brah

Pretty soon he's gonna make a fool of himself in public like he frequently does on film sets, and audiences will see him for the insufferable prick he really is.

He's done nothing but coast since Bronson, all the metrosexuals love him and think he's the second coming. Pffffft.

I just don't see what's so special about this other cases even if I don't like the actor I can see why he could appeal to others but not Hardy.

Hardy is a very talented actor and a great human as well as dishy to look at. A triple-threat. Even if you can't see it. He is, after all, number one on the starmeter this week. Not for nothing.

Trust that it just is and let it be.

That's somewhat debabtable.

a great human

That's very debatable, unless you mean great at the negative aspects of human personalities. In my experience he's a complete bell-end.

You can't say something nice about anyone, ever, so nothing you say counts.

>>16 STILL waiting for your response on about Legend, everyone eloquently rebutted your anonymous, cowardly sniping at Tom Hardy. with your unsubstantiated libel.

Don't say your not the same person because you are!

Interesting that you fantrolls all seem to pop up in the same place at the same time. You have a hive mind like the Borg or some other villainous science-fiction concept.

He looks good to me, although he'd look better without the tattoos. I don't like his performance in TDKR and the only other film I think I've seen of his is the miniseries Wuthering Heights which I know wouldn't be special to most around here. I think that he was brilliant as Heathcliff. Maybe he doesn't pick enough roles to suit him.

When he goes "by-by".
24 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-16 11:16
He was actually fantastic in all three of those.
25 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-16 11:26
I like him now (Mad Max)

I like Tom Hardy, more power to his elbow.
28 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-16 11:55
I love this "reign of terror" meme for him. It's so fitting.
29 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-16 12:07
He's like a Jude Law. He can blend well when part of an ensemble or do well as the focus.
30 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-16 12:17
What are you watching when Ou watch his films dude?

He is never going away as should be the case.
31 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-16 12:27
Most certainly a top 5 actor working today

Legend just broke UK box office records, so at least overseas, the reign of terror shall continue.

‘Legend’ Sets UK Box Office Records As Tom Hardy’s Kray Twins Turn Builds Buzz

by Nancy Tartaglione
September 14, 2015 7:13am

As I noted in my full international box office report last night, Tom Hardy-starrer Legend got off to a criminally good start this weekend in the UK. With actuals now in from Studiocanal, the final number is higher than projected. At £5.18M ($7.99M), several records have been broken, and the film has maintained the No. 1 postition, besting new entries Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and The Visit.

The drama from Working Title, and fully financed by Studiocanal, had the biggest all-time opening for an 18 certificate (R-rated) British film; and also takes the crown of the biggest September release of a UK film ever. Legend is the best-ever UK debut for Studiocanal as distributor — the company’s Paddington was previously its top opener when it bowed to £5.11M in December, 2014.

In a dual role, Hardy plays notorious gangsters Ronnie and Reggie Kray, twins who ran organized crime in the East End of London in the 1960s. Brian Helgeland directs the picture which Universal is releasing Stateside on October 2. It debuted in Toronto on Saturday to strong notices for Hardy who’s arguably one of the most intriguing actors working today. Deadline’s Pete Hammond wrote yesterday, “The actor is superb and you can throw his name into the crowded Best Actor race if voters can get past the bloodletting.”

With such a supremely British subject matter, there was a big curiousity factor here and opening in the UK first was a savvy move. It played at 522 locations for Studiocanal’s widest ever opening.

Studiocanal CEO Danny Perkins said today, “We worked closely with the filmmaking team as they crafted a superb film around a truly unique central performance and it has been fantastic to see this inspire such an incredible amount of excitement and appreciation from UK audiences.”

Just curious, but who would you say are the other four? My top five actors working right now would probably be (in no particular order):

Leonardo DiCaprio
Tom Hardy
Jake Gyllenhaal
Michael Fassbender
Oscar Isaac
34 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-16 12:56
certainly Isaac and Fassbender, probably add Gosling and Ben Mendelsohn... Chiwetel Ejiofor is in the running also
35 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-16 13:10
No love for Gyllenhaal or DiCaprio?
36 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-16 13:22
well you asked for a top 5, but that doesnt mean i dont appreciate work of those two aswell
37 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-16 13:33
Yep, I just do not get it about Tom Hardy.

I seriously don't get it. He's a decent actor with a level of capability that's about the same as any decent working actor's. But I don't understand the raving about how insanely talented he is. I don't see anything in him that shouts that to me, he's just like any number of actors who can....act.

He also seems like a bit of a fool -- was it the Jonathan Ross show, a few years ago, where he spoke with a hideous "Jafaican" accent throughout, perfectly seriously.
38 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-16 13:44
His Australian accent in Fury Road was terrible, but other than that I think he's a very good actor. His performance in Locke (my favourite performance of his and movie he's been in) was absolutely incredible.

My thoughts exactly.

Solid in The Drop also.

Cheer up. You're looking at your next James Bond.
41 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-16 14:53
I disagree with you here brah. I think he was very good in Bronson and Warrior. He has the potential to become great.
