Just shrinking. Digital HD is the current format.

I still buy plenty, but I don't know.

Blu Ray is still better quality than Digital HD

Probably, but as long as they keep being produced, they will be my format of choice (Blu-ray preferably, of course, whenever a film is released that way).

Beats me. I still buy movies. How else are you going to see them, besides stealing them? I'm no thief. I pay for the movies I want to watch.

paid downloads. no box and no space needed to store the discs. I still buy discs. But I can see digital downloads taking over. I have a friend that has an external memory 2tb and his whole movie collection is on it. He can take his movies everywhere.

Buying digital films and storing them physically defeats the purpose. You buy a digital film and store it digitally...

Pretty sure is hard drive store information digitally (with 1-0) as I'm pretty sure all DVD/bluray do.

No, 3 of the major purpose still work, even if you put a copy on your movie on a hard drive (that let you watch it anywhere, anytime even when you do not have high speed Internet access), buying from home and rapid access, taking no place easy to move your complete collection, update available to you if any get released.

Well he travels for work frequently. Why tie up memory on your laptop?

Well I can only speak as an iTunes movie buyer. I have like 480 iTunes HD movies. None of them are stored. I just access my movie library on my Apple TV and start watching them. It's streaming like Netflix but in much better quality.

If you buy anything from iTunes songs/movies/tv series it doesn't count towards your free cloud space.

Just get an Apple TV. It's $69 and is smaller than a cell phone...throw it in a bad with an HDMI cord to watch on your hotel TV.
