Now that Disney owns Lucasfilm

And that Lucas is no longer in charge and retired from his company, wouldn't it be badass if someday Fox/Disney/Lucasfilm collbarated on blu-rays of the original unmolested theatrical cuts on the original films? they can have our money.

Disney took over the company years ago and so far we've heard jack shit. They better fucking release the untouched originals.

I ain't watching Hayden Christensen's disgusting face in Jedi one more time.

Disney is removing the Fox fanfare from the beginning of the film.

I think Lucas has said the original negatives are in such bad shape that it would be impossible to remaster and restore them.

If they do anything, Disney is more likely to redub the supposed racist voices. They're very wary of that sort of thing considering how they like to avoid Song of the South.

Fox owns the distribution rights to the first film in perpetuity, the rights for the second and third films transfer to Disney in I think another five years, and around the same for the prequels, I believe.

It seems doubtful we will see any release of the 'original' versions until then, and as far as the first, maybe never.
