Nope, it's not the origianl theatrical cuts. No point in putting the release date because I know you won't buy them unless you want to feed the Star Wars money machine now instead of in December as well.

Just basically the same set as before, but now you can buy them individually in new steelbook cases. I will say the artwork is nice though for the steelbook cases.

Pass, I still haven't got the episode 4-6 movies on blu ray (dvd box set) and won't until it comes out in dual copies of original and Lucas ref~k versions.

Same, only I don't own any of them except a pan and scan VHS box set of the original trilogy that they released before the "Lucas ref~k versions" hit theaters.

I did buy the blu-ray box set of all 6 movies for my mom as a birthday gift a few years back because she's a huge fan who was prone to watching them on commercial tv whenever they came on, so my protest probably doesn't mean much, but I won't buy these "special edition versions" for myself.

To be honest, if they wanted my money for them at all, they're probably about 10 years too late because I've pretty much moved on.

The thing that really burns my ass is my dvd boxset has the original unedited movies letter-boxed inside a 4:3 format....seriously? What the hell is that? Adding insult to injury they are only in mono audio. The Lucas ref~k versions on the other hand are top notch remasters with excellent sound. It's like they're purposely bending me over a barrel and laughing maniacally. Meh...I've pretty much moved on as well, still a nice watch every couple years or so.

All are different in some way. For example, the 1997 ESB cut added a hilariously awful scream when Luke falls into the abyss. This is missing from subsequent versions.

Individually's good. I wouldn't mind having Star Wars and ESB as the changes in those, (yes, EVEN Greedo shooting first), don't bother me enough to ruin the movie. That way I wouldn't also have to buy The bastardized return of the Jedi. Even though Fox is distributing them, I wonder if Disney will work out a deal so buyers can get Disney Movie Reward points for buying them.
