Is Prince of Theives the best Robin Hood movie?

I rewatched it recently and had a blast. I remember when this movie came out and it was huge. But it seems to be mostly forgotten about these days. Rickman had me dying laughing. Top 5 favorite villian for me. Anyone else still a fan of this movie?

Yep, I enjoyed it. Rickman is great, but sometimes he goes a bit too over the top.

Not even close. The Errol Flynn Robin Hood is still the best.

It's easily the worst. Feck off.

I watched it recently for the first time and about halfway through I couldn't concentrate on it when I realized that Prince John was never even mentioned. How do you leave him out entirely? Even Ren & Stimpy had him in one brief scene!

Good heavens, no. Costner is awful, the characterizations are wildly inconsistent, Morgan Freeman's character is treated shabbily throughout, and the witch is just embarrassing. The director is clueless, and the screenwriter a TV level talent who shouldn't have been allowed near a feature film.
Yeah, Rickman is always worth seeing, but the whole thing is just drab and depressing. The Errol Flynn version remains definitive; heck, the Daffy Duck cartoon is worlds better than this turkey.

>>6Admit it - you don't know of any other Robin Hood film, do you?

>>6Yes by far, Alan Rickman is great.

I love it (mostly for nostalgic reasons), but no.

yes I love it. Great action, even though the accent is bad I like Kevin Costner in it. Nice set pieces, the score is great and Alan Rickman did a great job.

Rickman is probably the only tolerable element in that whole laughable waste of time.

Its not the best, but I still enjoy it.

I liked the one with Sean Connery better.

I was going to mention that. It's an original take on the story and the ending's a great mix of emotional story telling and legend making.

No.

I've only seen Men in Tights, and I'd find it hard to believe that there's a better Robin Hood movie out there.
