I just saw this film again last night and I still find it pretty good and entertaining but the one scene in the film I always find odd and askew is the dance sequence. I mean, when they've finally faced most of their demons and were vulnerable and cried in front of each other etc. suddenly after such an amount of catharsis...they just start dancing. Was John Hughes a fan of Footloose or something?

What's so weird about impromptu dancing?
