Demonic Toys (1992)

A demon comes back 66 years later (via toys), with a more sinister agenda.

The premise was there, but the execution was stale, It's rather sluggish, with corny dialogue, to boot.

He must've said "and do the nasty" 3 or 4 times, and then there's the constant/tacky laughter in the background.

The Blood Drinkers (1964) (Filipino)

A vampire and his minions (a hunchback, a dwarf, etc.) attempt to resurrect his love by harvesting the heart of her sister. Bizarre coloring scheme, where some scenes were shot in color while others were shot in black-and-white supplemented with post-production coloring. This was likely due to cost considerations, but it resulted in a wildly colorful movie with tons of atmosphere! I’m a sucker for deep red and blue hues, and this film uses them a lot. The tone is of the quality, gothic variety with a hint of cheese (e.g., the rubber bat). One highlight is a surprisingly awesome fist fight for the ages. A few of the women are beautiful too. Cool flick.

The Legend of Lucy Keyes (2005)

Never heard of this before. Came across this a couple of days ago, watched it last night.

A bit of a low budget ghost story set in a rural location. Wont say more explicit of the story as don't want to spoil.

The plot does feel a bit cliched, but does have some Interesting bits. The farmer has a novel superstitious way of keeping ghosts away from his property.

The acting swings from a tad hammy, to surprisingly very good in places. I really enjoyed this aspect of the film.

Don't expect a very scary film.

So, feels cheap, and a little hackneyed, nothing special. But i stayed engaged, liked the acting, and personally enjoyed it. A bargain DVD find for £1 ... so

Terror Tract (1997)

Really love anthology type films, and I thought this was awesome. Ritter's character was superbly creepy, and I loved the wraparound sequence at the end.

Impaktita (1989) (Filipino)

A seemingly normal teenage girl turns out to be the daughter of an Aswang monster, meaning that the same blood runs thru her veins. This begins strongly with a series of attack sequences and a good dramatic set-up. The script takes itself seriously and stays focused on the plights of the protagonist, who is well-acted by the lovely Jean Garcia. There are a few disturbing moments along the way, due mostly to the fact that the town is filled with degenerates and violent criminals. Special effects are practical and good enough, even though they are rubbery looking at times. However, there are some cool transformation sequences. (Viewed without subtitles.)
