Scream 1.01 (spoilers)

While the opening kill pales in comparison to Drew Barrymore's iconic sequence in the 1996 original, the pilot had enough to give us an introductory look at the suspense and writing style of the show.
Teen superstar Bella Thorne is on the chopping block as Nina for the opening kill. Hot, attractive and a killer body to go with it. Film geek Audrey is a standout in the ensemble of characters.
I'm beginning to suspect Daisy and Riley as the killers (yes, I'm calling it now...two killers).

i was actually pleasantly surprised by the pilot. the kids weren't as annoying as i expected them to be and the cliché 80s killer backstory was interesting enough for me to tune in next week.
i hope we'll get a full-fledged chase scene in the future and more gruesome deaths.
and is it me or do all the guys' voices in this show sound alike? did they do this on purpose so they're indistinguishable from the killer's voice?
anyway, i'll keep watching for now.
and now i've heard that ti west will be directing an episode. that's awesome

I swear the nerdy kid, you know the one that passes out drunk, is Topher Grace's long lost brother. Looked a little like him but sounded a LOT like him.
I enjoyed it. I'll tune in next week, sure.

It's decent enough actually, but it ought to be on another network. It's not nearly as horrifying as the promos they have on MTV for the REST of their awful, awful programming.
It's also pretty damn scary what some 17-year-old girls look like. I can't believe that's the same teenage girl that was in that stupid Adam Sandler movie, what, a year or two ago? Jeez!

It was pretty decent. Certainly not the disaster it could've been. And the idea of a slasher TV series is intriguing enough to keep watching for now.
