Poltergeist II: The Other Side (1986)

With the recent remake now out (which surprisingly wasn't bad at all), this should make for an interesting look back. While the original is a classic and a film I love, I actually prefer the sequel. Mainly because of Reverend Kane and I also enjoyed the hauntings more in this one, but for me the first two Poltergeist movies are very equal.

It's been a while since I've seen it but yes, I remember enjoying as much as the original, especially for the Reverend, he scared the pants off me when I first saw it.

It is good, i enjoy it, but not quite as much as the first one. It doesn't feel quite as fun.
Kane was creepy, sadly his look was helped by the actor having terminal cancer i believe. I've watched a couple of people look so sunken towards the end of their cancer Journey in the last few years.
The shaman was fun, especially about the angry car.

I also liked Taylor and the angry car. Haha I had forgotten about that until you said it.
Poor Robbie gets tortured again so the family can be distracted while the thing tries to take Carol Anne - this time attacked by his braces.
I hated the vomit creature. My mom had packed me, two of my cousins and my two best friends next door into her little mustang to go see this. One the way home she had to stop twice because two of us said we had to throw up (my friend actually did - I was able to refrain). That was a little too much. I'm still not a fan.
Overall though it wasn't a bad film. I just don't put it anywhere in the same light as the original. It didn't have the same chemistry.

I don't get all the hate. It's actually creepier than the first movie, though not better because of the huge cuts they made.

Why would the ghosts follow them around after they moved out of the house built on the Indian burial ground? Doesn't make sense.
