Too much unnecessary stuff in todays Horror films.

I read a thread earlier complaining about horror films with subtext and metaphors. Shoudn't you wake up and realise how generic and unoriginal horror films have become recently. Full of hacking and naked chicks for no reason but eye candy.
I'm talking of one of the very first films that introduced us to the sub genre is texas chainsaw massacre 1974, which was great but its been 30+ years and that *beep* still going on. It follows and the babadoook has had the nerve to step up the game and finally break the cycle of slasher garbage. Intelligent horror films with a story and characters we care for. They provide emotional concepts to take in account upon viewing unlike kill after kill of stupid characters we don't care about. And jump scares...... need i explain how they destroy a films experience. NO its common sense to know that *beep* cheap.
I'm not saying people who like generic slashers are bad, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Sometimes i enjoy a few slashers here and there, im just sick of people who don't appreciate "real horror", blood and guts is scary but overdone, grief and STI's are genuinely horrific as well, and for a horror movie to take those two real things and create a plot out of it, is smart. We need more smart horror films like the babadook and it follows, instead of the rubbish slashers that rot brain cells. I know there will be many disagreements but this must be expressed.

don't forget the screaming cat that jumps out from a dark space or the car that won't start till the killer is hanging onto the window

as well as the hand on the shoulder that turns out to be a friend or the 100 trips the hot blonde whore takes while running.

or the elevator doors that close right at the last second or the false death scene where the killer isn't really dead

Yes this one has always been my favorite, cause cats always jump, screaming out of nowhere.

Lots of old horror movies had those too.

or when the footage doesn't exist or they never call the cops for some unknown reason, or there is no signal.

There's no such thing as unnecessary gore, and the big horror movies these days don't really have much nudity. In fact I'm not all that sure what the fûck you're even talking about, slasher movies aren't like some big thing nowadays. And It Follows is a slasher movie, it just doesn't take it's kills as far as it should have when they happen.
