Your thoughts on the Guinea Pig series?

I have seen Guinea Pig (1985) and thought it was dull. Guinea Pig: Flowers of Flesh and Blood was sick. Mermaid In A Manhole was disgusting. What are your thoughts on the Guinea Pig series as a whole?

I've only seen Flowers and that was enough. Not my cup of tea and I can't imagine people getting a kick out of it, although apparently they do.

Couldn't watch the first, not because it was sadistic, but boring.

Flowers was seriously nasty, like Grotesque. Not be rewatching that!

Mermaid was crap. I might as well make myself puke and stick it on paper.

I seem to remember starting to watch the one with the tranny, but didn't get through it because it was so stupid.

He Never Dies was the best. Quite funny.

Loved Mermaid, hated He Never Dies, and thought Flowers was okay. I'm pretty sure that's all I've seen.

Mermaid actually had some sort of narrative and some suitably gross effets, Flowers was solely all about the brilliant f/x but not a lot else, Devil's Experiment was just sh!te with that one good money shot.

I haven't actually seen the whole series, though I've seen 4 of them. I believe the ones you mentioned are the only ones of note.

While Devils Experiment may have been 'dull', it was the most mean-spirited of the bunch, pretty unrelenting.

Though the main actress was annoying, they fixed that with Flowers of Flesh and Blood by having the actress drugged so she wasn't constantly screaming. The effects with that one was very good, sick is a very good word to describe it, though the sound effects were a little off.

I think mermaid is my favourite, as disgusting as it is, it's also heart wrenching. This one actually has a proper story behind it, proper meaning, I think the series is very bold and great as a precedent for pseudo snuff flicks.

I dislike them, in general. Mermaid and He Never Dies have their moments.

I find them boring and they have been far "out-grossed" since but I guess they served a purpose in the 80s. I think they are only famous because Charlie Sheen reported one as being a snuff film.

MASSIVE fan of Mermaid in a Manhole. All of the bathtub scenes are so epic. Also like Guinea Pig 1 and 2.
