Human Centipede 2 - Full Sequence (2011)

For some reason I'm in the mood to write up a review right now, and since people on the /tele/ are usually pretty split about this movie I decided to convey my thoughts.
While I felt the first Human Centipede was overall the better movie, the sequel was far from a disappointment. It's shot in black and white, which I think was a great decision. And unlike the first movie, this one doesn't shy away from any of the violence.
The main character, Martin, is brilliantly acted by Harvey. There's so many little touches to this guy that really stand out. You're not sure whether to laugh or be disgusted as his fat face twists into a grin while he looks at his Human Centipede book, or when he offers the crying baby comforting little noises before reverting back to a furious, hissing maniac in the matter of a few seconds. Not to mention the funny and realistic scenes of Martin needing to treat his asthma every time he gets excited.
As vicious and as unrelenting as Martin is though, you get to see a very submissive side of him around his mother. He folds his hands and looks down in sadness while she tears apart his precious book (right after he saw her stabbing his bed in an attempt to kill him, no less). He continues eating his meal when a jerk off from upstairs comes down and screams insults at Martin and his mother for banging on the ceiling, and then doesn't even react when he gets his ass kicked around the kitchen by this guy. He's likely so passive because of the whole "It'll only make daddy's willy harder!" shit he had to go through as a kid, but regardless, you start getting the feeling this guy will never stand up for himself.
Until Martin snaps, and the gore starts kicking in. One of my favorite scenes of the movie is the jerk off I referenced earlier coming down to beat some more retard ass for interrupting his party, and finding Martin's mother with her head pretty much bashed to shit sitting at the table. Keep in mind the reason Martin fucking murdered his own mom isn't because she's a psychotic bitch who wants to kill him, but because she touched his centipede. This should be a note to parents around the world. Don't fuck with your kid's pet.
Martin lets him look at her for a second before shooting him in the leg. And then he gets added to the centipede!
Speaking of the centipede, there is some fucked up shit in this movie. I think the laxatives was over the top, but I get what the director was going for. The pregnant woman, the guy who dies from getting his ass carved into, and the teeth scenes were some nasty, nasty shit. But none of this was as disturbing as that therapist's beard. Jesus Christ man. Just why.
I liked the ending too, and it's not what I was expecting. Was it all just in this disturbed, fat loner's head? What do YOU think?

One of the best horror films of this decade. Wonderfully directed and shot with biting satire to go with truly disturbing sequences. It had a great villain and I loved the homages or influences from other films like Eraserhead. I would actually consider the 1st one and this one equally as good as they compliment each other so well while being so distinctively different. can't wait for the 3rd movie really look forward to it. I also look forward to anything Tom Six does in the future as he is one of the more talented directors in the genre.

>>4it has a very thin narrative
weak characters with no emotional development
no substance
poor writing and directing
descent acting by Mr. Harvey (its funny to watch)
and an in your face disturbing for the sake of being disturbing
shock factor for the sake of shock factor
terrible dialogue
stupid clichéd sub characters
unnecessarily disturbing and shocking

>>5-A simple story has nothing to do with the film making
-Martin is one of the most complicated horror movie characters in the last decade, although I agree the centipede characters were underdeveloped
-Elaborate.
-The writing was hilarious and wasn't meant to be some incredibly deep stuff. The directing was fine.
-Great acting, and yes it was funny to watch.
-That's one of the biggest points of the movie. That's like saying a comedy is "telling jokes just to try to be funny"
The rest of your points are nearly the same as your first points so I'll stop there.

i saw much satire in it, it was a fun watch. maybe it was only me, but i couldnt stop laughing at some of the over-the-top-stuff.
i would be lying if i told you it isnt also a technically good film.

Agreed, and I think the over the top scenes were meant to be funny and horrifying at the same time.
