Killing The Disabled

Franklin Hardesty (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) just may be the most famous disabled person killed in a horror film.

"Come on Franklin, it's gonna be a fun trip..."

What other horror films depict a disabled character being killed?

My pick: Mark, the guy in the wheelchair from Friday the 13th: Part 2 (1981)

Disabled has sub-genres that would also include: handicapped, blind, mentally challenged, crippled....it all probably amounts to the same thing in a thesaurus, I would guess.

Wheelchair-bound Varelli in Inferno (1980) gets half-strangled by his voice-box wire, falls to the floor, and abandoned by the hero of the movie. Nice!

Wheelchair-bound John MacGregor in Phenomena (1985) gets stabbed in the heart after some monkey business.

Blind Daniel in Suspiria gets tormented by nothing then his throat ripped-out by his dog.

Blind Werner in Demons gets his eyes plucked-out and later tossed off a balcony.

Bloody funny when I think about it, Argento loves to bump off disabled people, the sadist.

The "halfway house" in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning felt more like what we'd call today a group home. Most of the victims seemed like they were mentally disabled in some way.

A bias against differently able people is specifically what motivates the killer in The Spiral Staircase, though my memory is failing me on the exact disabilities of the minor character(s) who are killed.

Thats what I said. Its a recurring theme in Argento and Fulci's films. Even the village idiot loner guy who plays with blow-up dolls in City of the Living Dead is killed horribly.

Killing the disabled is bad, I am against it.

It's wrong to kill anyone. Disabled or not.
