Doctor Who finale season 8

1 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 21:00
mfw I watched the 8th season's finale of doctor who

How shitty was it you ask me ?

Well shitty enough to force BBC to cancel the next season.

Really?

Some tumblr feminazi bitch gave moffat her fanfiction since he is a lazy talentless fat fuck he decided to film it.

Im not talking about the acting, it was great (especially missy), but the scenario was awful.
4 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 21:12
they needed to fire steven moffat after season 6
5 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 21:14
The scenario and the plot twists were so weak You don't even need to watch the épisode.

Missy turns all the dead people on earth into cybermens that she controles via a bracelet. Danny pink becomes cyberbitch but still has feelings.
Doctor Clara danny missy somehow end up in cemetery. Missy explains That she wants to give the doctor an army to conquer the galaxy.

Missy gives bracelet to doctor, doctor gives bracelet to danny (after a stupid speech) danny saves the Day by sacrificing himself and the cybermens.

That's it.

Oh and the best part is danny's gay speech about saving the livings.
It was awful to watch.
I mean moffat made some horrible episodes, rings of akhatens, the episode with the forrest, but This season finale is the worst.

I don't even know what this finale is supposes to lead to.
8 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 21:25
Since this was Clara's last episode should've ended with something like Missy promising to give Doctor Gallifrey's location if he lets her live. He lets her live, she gives the co-ordinates but not before killing Clara and teleporting out. He checks out the location, finds out she lied and then season 9 can be him trying to track Missy down to get revenge.

Instead we get the incredibly generic RTD-tier finale. The Mater is "dead" but the writers will ass pull some retarded autistic explanation for her surviving whenever they feel like bringing her back, Clara decides to stop travelling, fuck you Moffat, go die in a fire faggot.

I don't think you really understand the spirit of Doctor Who or the intended target audience.

If you want edgy grim dark revenge shit go and watch some DC comic shit.

Dr Who is a fun space adventure serial for the family

I'm so bored of Moffat's hype. They kept banging on about it being 'the Earth's darkest day', but there was nothing to that whatsoever. For a start, it was just the Master and Cybermen. And not even done in a way that made it stand out from any other Master/Cyberman episode. Just 'oh the Master's got an evil plan to have the Cybermen do some evil stuff'. We just saw some Cybermen on a plane and then stood in a graveyard, and then they exploded.

And what did it come down to? The Master doing that fucking 'You're not so different from me after all!' shite after escaping from custody by tricking someone into coming in close to hear her whisper what she has to say. Really? Really? And then the Doctor looks thoughtful for ten seconds and then just reels off his character bio.

For all of Moffat's faults, I would never have thought he could be called unambitious. Now I do.
11 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 21:57
So how did Cyber Brig save Kate when all the Cybermen were under Missy's control at that point? Does Moffat really think the power of love is a valid option?
12 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 22:08
HOW THE FUCK WAS DANNY ALIVE AS A CYBERMAN

HIS BODY WAS FUCKING DEAD AND HIS MIND WAS UPLOADED

HOW THE FUCK WAS HE TALKING AND SHIT IN THE CYBER SUIT
13 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 22:18
>>12
The entire point of the Cybermen is that the suits are life-support systems that take over for flesh as or after it has failed, which includes, say, stimulating muscles with electricity. to make them move.

Cybermen are actually individuals, but the controls on their emotions repress their need to display or behave individually. This is why they have hierarchy (and designated cyberplanners).

THEY JUST KILLED OFF SEB LIKE HE WAS NOTHING
FUCK THIS SHOW IM FUCKING DONE FUCK YOU MOFFAT I HOPE A GANG OF NIGGERS BREAK INTO YOUR HOUSE AND YOU TO DEATH
15 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 22:39
I'm convinced BBC is screwing with the scripts.
There's no way Moffat thought that ending was good.
I don't believe it.

I also thought it was hilarious how they teased that "Clara Oswald never existed" line for ages, then added "I'm the Doctor", put her eyes in the title sequence and then said Nah just kidding.

For the best though.
17 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 22:52
Cybermen do fucking nothing for 60 minutes. I was waiting for the cybermen to start killing, or upgrading, or screaming delete. But nothing. Fucking Rise of the Cybermen and Age of Steel was better than this.
18 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 22:58
Why is Moffat still the writer? why can't he fucking realize that he's shit at writing? even RTD would do better than this shit.
19 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:01
He's the fucking Brigadier.

He fucks up The Master's plans from beyond the grave, his name is Steve Moffat.
20 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:01
Why did nobody remember the Cyberman from the last time they invaded the entire planet
21 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:02
So if I told you before this episode aired that the Brigadier would come back from the dead as a Cyber Man and kill the Master before flying into the sky, would you say I was full of shit? Moffat can choke on a bag of cocks.
22 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:02
That was indeed a pile of half-formed bollocks. Shame, as I'd rather enjoyed 'Dark Water' and thought it could have lead into a far more interesting finale than that. Capaldi and Gomez made it tolerable. But the Brig as a Cyberman with a heart? Fuck right off. The idea that the Brigadier would ever want the Doctor to salute him just insults the audience's intelligence. So even that bit felt like pure emotional manipulation rather than the moving moment it was supposed to be. Thank you for directing your warm piss in my face, Moffat.
23 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:05
If the story had just been set in some random village in Dorset or something like in the Pertwee days I might have quite enjoyed it. What's the point in having a massive global threats and recycling all those stock shots from Airplane 2 if it's just going to be in a graveyard in the middle of nowhere. Just pair the story down so we can actually concentrate for a moment.

Oh, and stop making the villains able to fly. What's next? Remember those scary angels that can't move when you look at them? Well now they can fly AND they fire lasers from their eyes. So have that kids.

Most of the RTD years have been lost to the cracks so Cybermen are just something UNIT knows a bit about maybe.

so was the master plan literally to fuck with the doctors mind and get him back into war doctor mode?

that lack of galifrey scene

master must be hurting as much as the doctor over no galifrey

Missy isn't dead, right? The effect looked more like the teleporting effect. I doubt they'd just kill off such an important character and barely mention it afterwards. Also, I liked that finale, such a shame that they killed Kumar

41 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:23
The Masters return unexplanation in fact left a steaming Moff-poo over that entire (already pretty rubbish) story arc.

This explanation was: Master is Missy now because not dead because Doctor saved Gallifrey in Time War and Master was on Gallifrey at the time.

Never mind that that was all stuff that was meant to have happened prior to the End of Time events, for both Dr and the Master. Never mind that at all.
42 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:24
the cybermen she converted were already dead
she didn't kill anyone except a plane full of tumblards
the cybermen killed a few people but just accidentally
gave control of the cyberarmy to the doctor as a gift
seemed sincere and happy when she said Gallifrey is back and they should go there together, just like old days

Missy a qt.
Missy did nothing wrong.

Deep Breath, Listen, Dark Water, Death in Heaven.

What was Moffat's best script here and what was his worst?
44 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:27
Positives:
- killing Osgood (affecting and a brave decision that will enfuriate Gallifrey Base)
- Michelle Gomez was a great female Master (pity she didn't have much to do and may not return)
Negatives
Everything else.
45 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:28
What was the name of that drama show that Sylvester McCoy presented where they got children to suggest plot ideas and the production team would have just 24 hours to turn it into a finished episode?

That was more competently made than this shit, they should bring it back.
46 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:28
Moffat and Russell and both fucking awful.
Fuck them. Fuck them for ruining Doctor Who.
Fuck both of them. Fuck this episode.
Big Finish is literally the only good doctor who these days.
47 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:29
Why did the Robots from Robot of Sherwood want to go to the Promised Land?

Cybermen can't do anything with them.
48 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:29
Why is Moff obsessed with portaying Capaldi's Doctor as inferior. Repeatedly throughout this series it has been the supporting characters who work out the solutions to the problems.
And then in the speech today "I'm an idiot". Why?!?!
49 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:30
That small reference the Zygon made about her sister in the 50th anniversary episode gave Osgood way more depth than he managed in a season of Danny.
50 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:30
This episode was strictly written for remembrance day.
51 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:30
I was just wondering, how intelligent actually is the Doctor? Not "old and wise" not "he can make wacky solutions", but actual intelligence.
52 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:31

Never mind that that was all stuff that was meant to have happened prior to the End of Time events, for both Dr and the Master. Never mind that at all.
But it clearly wasn't. Don't you remember End of Time? It's ok if you don't it was awful

The Master and the High Council got sucked back to Gallifrey at the end of the timewar, just in time to get saved in Day of the Doctor
53 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:32
Peter Capaldi: the best Doctor since Tom Baker
Michelle Gomez: the best Master since Anthony Ainley (probably about equal to him, actually)

both wasted on awful awful writing.

You could've had just about anyone else stand in. If she's not back next season to explain what the fuck she's playing at and this was just an incidental appearance, total waste.

Why was she watching everything on tablets the entire season? Just how elaborate was her timeline fuckery? Why is she back? Where is Gallifrey? Why is he now a she?

Serialized storytelling can be fun to write but if you don't answer questions, you end up with fucking LOST.
55 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:35
One thing that really baffled me was the way the opening bigged up Clara, even billing her before Capaldi. This led me to expect that she'd have an especially important part in the story, as the series seemed to be building up to her becoming more like The Doctor in episodes like Flatline. But then all she does is stall a couple of Cybermen and mope around in the graveyard, side-lining her even more than usual. (Moffat reducing his female characters to helpless damsels so the men can sort everything out? Get out!) All the build-up accomplished was to give Moffat fan bait for the trailer.

Gomez handles herself well though. While Moffat saddles her with his usual carbon copy women dialogue she manages to rise above it a lot better than Simm, Kingston and Frances Barber did.
56 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:35

You could've had just about anyone else stand in.
The entire plot only happened because the Master wanted to give the Doctor an army to see what he'd do with it.
57 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:35
I honestly imagine Moffat has a raging boner when he's writing for River or Clara or Missy or any of the dominatrix women characters he has in his shows.

The Doctor is Moffat's submissive insert into the show.
58 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:36
Missy is fine.

Moffat in DW Extra:

"On the subject of the Master, I always enjoyed how they handled this problem when the wonderful Anthony Ainley was playing the part in the 80s. He would get killed, definitively, at the end of every encounter with Peter Davison or Colin Baker, and then he'd turn up at the start of the next Master story, with roughly this explanation: "I escaped!" Suits me! I'm fine with that! Supervillains don't die, do they? So I wouldn't trust anything about that character's ability to lie down and stop breathing."
59 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:36
Did Danny really not become a full cyberman because he loves Clara? Were all other people who ever died just not in love with ANYONE? Aside from The Brig, I guess.
60 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:36
That episode was obviously shit: a bunch of people stood on a plane for an hour then the power of love and soldiering saved the day. But it was better than The Wedding of whatever the fuck her name is.

My bigger problem is that Capaldi just seems radiate discomfort with his character. In my opinion Capaldi's Doctor is just so miserable that I can't see any of The Doctor in him. Can we please just have one moment of levity in DOCTOR WHO? Except for the handful of moments the script lets Capaldi's warmth seep in, he's just 'Mopey Anger Man'.

But everyone else seems to think he's 'effortlessly Doctorish' so I'm statistically wrong.

hes a member of a race who can time travel they discovered how to give themselves near immortality they can create and destroy realities, stars, solar systems etc and took a policy of leaving the universe to its own devices until they stumbled on a race of pissed of pepper dispensers being created and thought its best for the universe to be without them.

this then caused the war of all wars to break out and it took all the horrors and powers of the universe to bring them to near defeat and has left the universe scarred and broken in places

time lords are complete bullshit and pretty smart in essence

Utter garbage, first one i have watched on broadcast, wish I hadn't bothered.
Awful ideas, most of them done before (Intelligent water - Water of Mars, Cybermen in graveyard - The Next Doctor, The power of love breaking Cyber control - Doomsday/ Closing time), The Doctor and Master battling on a UNIT ship - TLOTTL). The Cyber cloud was a stupid idea. The Cyber Brigadier was just horrible, disgraceful really.

Worstof all was a massive waste of a wonderful Master, who did very little (What she did do was spot on).
Danny Pink was even worse as a Cyberman. I rate him lower than Waterhouse. Capaldi was even off in this, felt like he had given up. The Doctor as president of the world. Jesus wept.

They made it nearly impossible to care about Clara after this series. I wouldn't mindbut I quite liked her at the end of the Smith era. I mean Moffat had a fantastic Doctor, decent companion and a Master who was perfect. How did he fuck it up

Flying Cybermen smacking the side of a plane.

The Doctor falling to his death climbing in the TARDIS.

Permission to fucking squee.

god.

The show has no internal logic anymore, one minute the TV news says now "Cybermen" can now fly, about ten minutes later the TV news said unknown silver beings were coming out of the ground. They need a scrpt editor (Well one who will tell Moffatt how shit the scrpts are)

I dunno, last week was the first time since Series 5 that I actually give a fuck. It was a great set up. Totally fucked up Very disappointing. I really do wish Moffcunt would fuck off and let someone new have a go.

I probably would say that was worse than Stolen Earth/Journey's End.

I USED TO VENOMOUSLY DEFEND YOU BACK IN THE SERIES 5 ERA FROM THOSE WHINY RTD/TENCUNT FANS, MOFFAT. fuck you.
64 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:38
Moffat must go.

I'm not even kidding, this was so dissapoiting. Fucking killed Tumblrgirl for absolutely NO reason, Danny dies and brings back the child (that we are never going to see again) and it's NOT explained how that works, the Doctor doesn't fucking find Gallifrey, the Master was, is and will always be a cunt (don't bother bringing him back, the Doctor will always fall for his tricks), the Brigadier saving his daughter like it was nothing (and where the fuck did he go?), Clara and the Doctor both lying, Clara not even crying when Danny died or when he brought the kid back instead of himself, the Doctor hitting the console out of anger, and that motherfucking ending. How does Santa even know they're not alright? For fuck's sake.

I swear, if this gets retconned and Osgood and Danny are back from the dead at Christmas, I'll be angry. And actually, if this whole episode isn't retconned in some way, Moffat can just fuck off. Danny and Clara could have been so much more, Osgood and Kate could have been the new Brigadier with an Earth-based Series 9. Moffat just needs to go. It gets worse every series. Series 5 was, is and always will the best series of Doctor Who.
65 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:38
This was so shit, I think retconning the whole episode at Christmas and bringing back Osgood and Danny from the dead and just move on and ofrget everything that happened will actually be better.

I don't think this is the right road to take. For all the other traits of the Simm Master, one thing they did very well is making him feel like a big deal. Right from the start he outdid all the previous nuWho villains and took over the world in no time. If there were viewers who weren't familiar with the character, they'd know that an evil time lord raises the stakes compared to the usual, and know why it was important for the Doctor to be the only one in the setting.

RTD sort of kept the power creep under control, while bringing the Master in every once in a while. But this one, honestly? Didn't really feel the same way. It could have been a mid-season two parter with no over-arching plot importance.
67 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:40
Pacing was a bit shit. First part had nothing really happening, second part started off with the assumption that EVERYTHING was happening, then very very little happened, then there was the graveyard scene, then it ended
68 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-08 23:40
I'm choosing to believe that
a) Clara didn't quite manage to turn on the emotional inhibitor and
b) the Brigadier never deleted his emotions -- kept a stiff upper lip through everything.
Then it's not a power of love ending any more.

As soon as I saw that dinosaur in the first episode I sighed in irritated disappointment, and that pretty much set the tone for this series. Capaldi deserves better than this, in my opinion the worst series of Doctor Who yet.

You sighed in irritated disappointment at the first sign of the series doing anything even vaguely silly. Nothing of value will be lost if people like this collectively just stop watching Doctor Who forever.

/who/, hello! Thank you very much for your comments. I really enjoyed getting them. You see, when Steven Moffat and I are venturing around on Tumblr, sometimes people say bad things about us. And you know what, /who/? Sometimes people say sad things about us too. So it's nice to know that there are people like you, out there, who are on our side. And you should know that we're on your side too. Now you look after yourselves, you take care, and be happy. Bye!
