Recently, I've been on a disturbing movie kick, and I've had some good recs on here. I've started up a list of the most disturbing movied I've ever soon. It's a small list but it's growing. So far, the most disturbing movie I've seen is A Serbian Film (2010). What's the most disturbing movie that you guys have seen?

Freaks (1932) would have to be right up there. An interesting film, but I would never watch it again.
I couldn't make it through A Serbian Film. Made it up to the scene with the pregnant woman in the dungeon and decided whatever was coming up I just did not want to see.

Disturbing isn't my bag but I've seen a few that people list regularly. Melancholie der Engel affected me more than any. I was also upset by a single scene from The Men Behind the Sun, a movie I do not want to see. One scene was more than enough, took a few days to shake off the inhumanity of it.

Martyrs and A Serbian Film are the movies that disturbed me the most.

Irreversible is also one hell of a disturbing flick IMHO but you've probably already seen it. Check out I Stand Alone from the same director (Gasper Noe) if you haven't already. Excellent flick.

What's really disturbing is that a text board supposedly devoted to film and tv would keep shilling an unloved piece of crap like a serbian film.
It made 50 cents in canada. We don't care.

The Stoning Of Soraya M stuck with me for a few days, being based on a true event that still goes on today. The final 15 minutes was tough to endure.
I still think the end to Spoorloos is a hard one to beat as I saw when I was very young and had never previously seen a film that had such a dark, disturbing ending before. It made me think, those Europeans!
I agree with others on Irreversible too. The "happy ending" makes it all the more disturbing and tragic.
