Just in the middle of watching Herzog's brilliant Gothic movie and it struck me how similar to Dario Argento's movie this is, in imagery and mood. Both have:

1) Similar landscapes (forest background, mountainous region with flowing water)

2) Sleepwalking girls (Lucy and Jennifer)

3) Fly/flies in a transparent box (held by Renfield and Jennifer)

4) Telepathy (Jennifer with insects, Lucy/Renfield with Jonathan/Dracula)

5) Rotted corpses (beginning of Nos, parts of Phen)

Not to mention Argento featured the poster for Nosferatu in his production of Demons, and himself directing Dracula 3D (crap as that was).

The films even look similar in terms of photography.

Anyone agree?

Interesting comparison. I'll have to watch both again sometime soon.
