Hellraiser Inferno (2000)

I love the original and was really unimpressed by the sequel so gave up on watching any others.

I was reading up on the upcoming Deliver us from Evil which I'm looking forward to and discovered it's the same director as Sinister and The Exorcism of Emily Rose, both really good films.

I was surprised to see he's also directed this Hellraiser sequel. I've never seen it. What are your thoughts on this one? It gets a fairly decent rap on the board but that doesn't really mean much.

I think its a great little horror noir that is lumbered with the Hellraiser label.

Taking the few scenes of Pinhead out, and just seeing it as a movie outside the franchise, I think its pretty good.

Kinda like them all with the exception of Deader and Hellworld. None equal the brilliance of I and II but I found them enjoyable nevertheless.

It's an ok film, and the best of the direct to dvd Hellraiser films. After the second film, the series took a bad dive, but Inferno was better than most.

It is a rip-off of Angel Heart.

It never occurred to me but now I think about it....you're absolutely right.

Oh my gods, I never thought of that! You're right...

Now that this was brought to my attention, it got me thinking...Hellseeker kinda rips off Jacobs Ladder the way Inferno rips off Angel Heart.

It's my least favorite of the Hellraiser sequels, not including the dreadful last 3.

Though I haven't watched HELLSEEKER in ages, this one might be my least favorite of the series.

I always kinda liked that one due to the point they reintroduced Kirsty into the mix.

Yeah but it ruined her...

Yeah, one creepy movie. More of a standalone flick, but for Pinhead.

I guess Boone became a dirty cop after wrecking Midian and Lylesburg had a full-on makeover in Hell: shaving, piercing, new voice, etc...

It's not a bad movie, just nothing to write home about. The lead character is very human, more so than many characters seen in horror films, but he's also very unlikeable. Almost all of the other characters are window dressing, so it's tough to have anyone to really root for. It's at least well shot, has some nice twists and attempts to get the series back to it's darker roots.

I love all of the Hellraiser movies. I still haven't seen Hellraiser: Revelations (2011), yet. Hellraiser: Hellworld (2005) is my most favorite.
