I was wondering about this, gosh like every week I'm on here and look on the main page to see if there is a horror film coming out in theatres, but none. And, it just keeps happening. week by week, month by month, no horror films in theatres, why is this?

I wouldn't see them but they are horror movies being released in three consecutive weeks after the OP said he checks every week and there is nothing new being released. I only did a quick minute search and came up with them.

Look a bit harder. There are always horror movies coming out in theaters. Not as frequently but they come out.

yeah, what you just said explains exactly what I have been feeling lately, "not as frequently." I mean, where are all the slasher films, where are all the boogeyman films, and where are all the R rated adult horror films? it seems like the only horror films that come out nowadays are either paranormal, teen vampire, or possession horror films. and that's it, no other kind of horror films most of the time. ok, go to your local big, main theater nowadays and look for a horror film. I bet you won't find any, I just don't see them in theaters anymore, and that's really sad to me. every other kind of movie gets so many movies coming out in theaters. Me and my friend were just talking about this the other day, and he said what about horror films coming to theaters? and it's like I couldn't think of any that were about to come to theaters. the only horror film which I could think of which was going to come to theaters was the green inferno, but I'm not even sure if it's going to come to main theaters in the United States now. ok, so there are a few which are going to come out but give me 20 in the past five months, and that's not even that many for a few months, I bet you can't do that.

Tell me in the history of cinema where there was 20 horror films theatrically released in a 5 month period...you can't cause its never happened...at least wide release anyways.

Which explains why movies like The Conjuring were such flops

I am sure there are horror movies coming out in theaters. But even if there aren't any you like why don't you just start watching independent movies.
