There's no general forum for my statement
Do children (Pg 13) think a collection of *beep* CGi efforts constitute to film making ?
we need the net in Cambodia to download some great English/American films from the past
at least the Directors weren't controlled by corporations
Kubrick is a God and from new York !
and would never make another without full control
films are made by committees for the lowest form of money (American teenagers)
I may live in Cambodia the 3rd world (always wondered where the 2nd world was ?)
but as far as that *beep* little suburb In LA is concerned (Hollywood)
tell them to stop as all they do fund is action films all made in Eastern Europe
and *beep* Marvel comics CGi rubbish made in a pc/work station/production line
at least Pinewood Studios has some dignity left

Somewhat harsh...
Take a look at the movies by Ray Harryhausen. Excellent for their time, but Harryhausen would have killed for better effects than he could manage with stop-motion photography.
There's also various movies where the lack of numbers in a scene make the idea of a battle huge: I'm thinking 'Alexander'- but going back to 'Taras Bulba' and the various casts of thousands in Cecil B. De Mille's epics.
Having CGI means that we can get a sense of scale - that's hard to do with real actors. I've seen some "Sharpe" tv shows - there's about six actors on the set anywhere in the Peninsula war. One of them is Wellington.
And I agree - I've had it with 'superhero' movies. But no-one's pointing agun at my head and forcing me to watch them.
My compliments on your English - and all the best.

Studio movies have always been made by committee, even in the so-called Golden Age and Hollywood was run by companies in New York even then. It's just that today, we know about it.
Very few directors had full control of their movies. See the books "Studio" and "Picture" for more.
Pinewood makes movies for whoever can afford to use it: the studio doesn't care much about content. Self-respect isn't a factor.

I don't entirely disagree with some of your statements, but in the past few years Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men: First Class, and Captain America: The First Avenger were all made at Pinewood Studios. They are a rental facility. Any filmmaker with enough money can use their studios.

Film is still an art form. Not everything posted on YouTube is art just like your first-grader's finger paint creations are not art.
