Saw this when I was a kid and didn't remember anything about it, but hey, I LOVE Demon Knight so I thought I would give this a go.
Plot: It's just the last 40 min of From Dusk Till Dawn done as a full film, but not nearly as well.
Pros, kind of: The key from Demon Knight is brought back. This is a really cool idea to link the two films, but nothing is really done with that. It's supposed to be used here to keep the head vampire under control but when it is smashed(what does that mean if the plot from Demon Knight is still true!), she doesn't really become anymore out of control. Actually, the key itself has no real impact on the story itself at all. It's just kind of there.
And that's the odd thing about this film. It's kind of full of itself. There are WAY to many rather dumb nods to the Crypt and Demon Knight to the point where a character right out says, "it's like we are in a Tales From the Crypt episode!" Guys, that's not smart, that's lazy you guys.
2. Near the end when they take down the Bordello. Blowing up vamps all over the place. Though it should have been longer. So much build up for such little pay off.
Cons: 1. I know, I know, a lot of you guys are straight and love your breast and butt shots. I hear ya man, but look at it from my point of view. I'm not into girls in that way(I'm ace :) ) so all I see is padding. Padding here, padding there, padding, padding everywhere! Most of the time when a film decides to show some naked women the film makers will put a good song behind it or tape it in some kind of dynamic way(like the strip/feet scene in From Dusk Till Dawn. Man do I love that song!) but here the camera man just kind of points the camera straight and it just sits there, without motion, at a butt for a good four min. Ya, you are all going to flame me, but it's fluff! All just fluff! And it becomes old hat very quickly.
2. It becomes pretty clear pretty quickly that the reason why there's so much fluff in this film is because it has nothing else going for it. Nothing is really bad, but everything feels kind of bland and sub par. No wonder I next to forgot it. There's hardly anything here to remember.
And, well, there's really not much else to say. It has a pretty predictable ending, the 'mother of all vampires', but not much is really done with her to make her stand out, and a lot of fluff.
