Halloween: Resurrection (2002)

When I saw it in the theater, I was as disappointed as most.
In fact, I remember telling a friend that Busta Rhymes "busted up the whole movie".
But don't you fools think it's the [so bad, it's good] type, or am I the only one?

HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION (2002) is really, really bad, but at least it's more fun than ROB ZOMBIE'S HALLOWEEN (2007) and ROB ZOMBIE'S HALLOWEEN II (2009).
The reason I don't get mad at RESURRECTION for having an open-ended conclusion is because the whole HALLOWEEN saga really got messed up with every film; the first film was meant to be a stand-alone story. Then the second one was meant to kill of Michael Myers and leave the franchise open for different stories (such as the third film). Then the fourth movie brought back Michael and left it open for his niece to be a new villain, only to have that retconned in the fifth film when she is once again the hero and Michael has returned with a supernatural element. The sixth movie somehow decided it was a good idea to make Michael a full-on cursed being -- despite no prior indication of this -- and had the Strode family mysteriously unaware that their new house was also the childhood home of the madman who tried to kill their (adopted) niece. Then the seventh movie ignored everything in the franchise except for the first two movies and killed off Michael in the end, but the eighth movie decided to "fake" his death.

There really is no legitimate argument in defense of the movie.
Okay, the redhead shows her tits. Fine, that was pretty swell. But then again, Katee Sackhoff doesn't. So, in short, f'ck that movie.
Rick Rosenthal burned all the goodwill he earned with Halloween II and should be ashamed.

Busta not only busted the film to a pulp, but it was also a
disappointing & unnecessary installment because H20 ended
well. The beginning with Curtis as Laurie was the only good
part imo, but I hate what happens to her.

Yeah, it may have been kind of an eye-popping moment the first time we saw it. However, it was also as big a mistake as Sigourney Weaver thinking Ripley had to die in the "Alien" series. And if Curtis and Weaver thought killing off their iconic characters would somehow be freeing and broaden the range of roles that they would be offered, well, I haven't seen much evidence of that.
Still, I'll take 'Resurrection' over 'Halloween 6' any day.

I didn't want to see Laurie Strode killed so I avoided this for years. I was curious and rented it much later from Blockbuster way back when around Halloween. The dvd glitched about half way through so I never saw how it played out, Never was tempted to see more of it since.

1/10 not even so bad it's good, just so bad it's unworthy of a watch

What sucks the most is Michael Myers was alive by the end of the film and we never got to see what eventually came of >him. The next movie was the Rob Zombie Halloween, so we never actually got to see what became of Michael Myers in the >first universe.
Really? Nine films and no closure? The least they could do was kill him off.
Agreed, it was kind of a huge bummer. Knowing they were gonna remake it in the future anyway, they really should of left H20 as the end of the series.

it's neither so bad, it's good , or so bad- It is BLOODY AWFUL AS THEY CAN GET

It's so bad it is terrible. There is no redeeming qualities about it. It's annoying, ugly, and there's nothing interesting about it at all. The rest of the sequels in the original series are entertaining at least. Zombie's movies are interesting, have good gore, and they are in their own "place". Resurrection is the worst of the series. I cannot watch it at all.

I rate it 7/10. It's my second least favorite Halloween movie. My least favorite is Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982). I rate that film 5/10.

I can tell you what I think of the movie. Y'know how Atari buried copies of the awful E.T. game back in the 80s, well that's exactly what they should do with this, find every single copy ever distributed and bury the f-uckers.
And anyone who enjoyed it should be forced to play E.T. as punishment.

Halloween films as great apart from the two remakes and part 8, like why the hell would you kill the main bitch and replace all the whites with blacks and think it would work?
