Crystal Palace v Chelsea [Premier League]

Crystal Palace v Chelsea (12:30 GMT)

If Chelsea win at Selhurst Park they will equal a club record of 11 consecutive league wins, and condemn Palace to yet more misery.

It's astonishing to recall that at this time last season Crystal Palace were sixth in the Premier League and looking set fair for Europe. The Eagles were 11 points better off than Chelsea, who were a miserable 16th.

But Alan Pardew's side have taken only 26 points from the 35 Premier League games they've played in 2016 - if those matches had been played across a season rather than a calendar year they would have long since been relegated.

It will be of no comfort to anyone at Palace to recall that this 'annus horribilis' began with a 3-0 home defeat by Chelsea.

*Chelsea have won five of their last six Premier League games away to Crystal Palace, keeping clean sheets in four of those matches.
*Palace beat Chelsea 1-0 at Selhurst Park in March 2014 - but that is their only home league win against the Blues since 1990.
*This will be Palace's final Premier League home match of 2016 - it was also their first game of the calendar year (a 3-0 home defeat on 3 January).

Crystal Palace: Hennessey, Kelly, Dann, Delaney, Ward, McArthur, Ledley, Zaha, Cabaye, Puncheon, Christian Benteke.
Subs: Speroni, Campbell, Townsend, Lee, Fryers, Mutch, Husin.

Chelsea: Courtois, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill, Moses, Kante, Matic, Alonso, Willian, Costa, Hazard.
Subs: Begovic, Ivanovic, Fabregas, Zouma, Pedro, Batshuayi, Chalobah.

Referee: Jon Moss (W Yorkshire)

no apologies required >>3. Chelsea look class. palace not the finished arcticle and lack Chelseas quality .

But we could gve em a run for there money - if they take it easy and leave gaps. BUT hopefully pards will learn ZAHA NEEDS TO PLAY on the wing!!! not up front as per the united game.

Chelsea seem to be the one consistent team in a topsy turvy division. 1-3 for me. Palace always look like they can get a goal against anyone but defensively they can be shockingly bad.

Should give a gig to someone like Rio Ferdinand as a defensive coach. He could work wonders.

yeah we do need that - its as if the Pulis effect was going on for a year or two past his leaving and now it has completely disappeared.

I believe Palace might be able to score a goal against strong Chelsea defence but they might concede more than one.

1 - 2, Palace to score first. You know, to give you hope.

Looks like another win to nil for Chelsea coming up.

Costaaaa, it's begun.

My attention has wandered in the last few minutes, and it wasn't that riveting before that. It was always going to be a narrow, and dull, Chelsea win.

Palace suffer ANOTHER 0-1 loss
