Sorry, not going to feel bad for you. You choose to play a very, very violent sport and get paid handsomely for the risks you're taking. Why the NFL should be held culpable for people willingly playing a clearly risky game is beyond me. If you don't want to damage your body potentially long term, then don't play football. Many of these guys trade the temporary high-life for a murky future and that's their choice. Sure, I don't want anyone to have long-term repercussions, but that's just life if you choose to put on pads and crash into other human beings over and over and over again.

The NFL tried to suppress the studies on the effects of football on the brain. Otherwise I agree with you, you knew the risks when you signed up for a job that virtually guarantees the destruction of your long term health.

Not me. Even dumb football players must realize pounding your head against one another for years is going to take its toll. Just another example of people trying to sue others any chance they can in this litigious society.

It's one thing to assume you'll have physical issues, but nobody knew until fairly recently the effects that chronic head injuries could really have, much less quite how chronic they are. Pair that with the NFL denying the obvious data, and there is a reason to be a little more sympathetic.
