ive been playing for years and had to quit for a while, busy due to work etc
i picked it back up recently and after a day of playing my fingertips developed some dank blisters.

Those are calluses. Every string instrument player has to develop them.
I've played classical (nylon string) guitars for years. I guess I started about 9 years ago. I don't really consider it my main instrument though.
