It seems to be something that's forced in the workplace. It seems like whenever you have people from different backgrounds and cultures together in one place a lot of drama usually ensues. Then I look at a country like Japan where they are strict about NOT being diverse and things are going relatively well over there.

Yes and no. Like nearly anything else, it has its ups and downs. And it really depends on the execution. The corporate culture that is fostered is far more important than any "diversity", or lack thereof.

Diversity of thought is important though, to avoid the dangers of groupthink.

I don't think Japan is an ideal example of a healthy work attitude.

Natural diversity is fine and good and this means that in some cases like, where most all pro hockey players are white and most pro basketball players are black IS IN FACT DIVERSITY ALL BY ITSELF!

It's the forced kind that is the problem, because that forces someone to intervene, control and manipulate to achieve the desired result, which isn't necessarily the natural result!

You think Japan doesn't let people enter?
Granted it has xenophobia issues regarding non-Japanese permant immigrants, but that's not the same thing and could have equal downsides in terms of self-isolated homogeneity.

Well, not the part about jumping in front of a train. But I meant more overall as a country. How they don't really let outsiders in. As opposed to countries like the USA, England, Canada, etc.
