Get rid of obstacles to free trade? How? By getting out of a free trade union?
Hope Scotland is energized and gets out of UK soon.

If a free trade Union was all it was, there wouldn't be a problem.

No, by getting out of a customs union that prevents us from making our own free trade agreements.
You really don't understand the arguments, do you? If the EU were just a free trade union then we'd have absolutely no problem with it.

UK wants to become a tax haven?
Hope Scotland leaves asap.

UK wants to become a tax haven?
Yes, that's want I really meant to say, even though I actually said something completely different.

Uk not just leaving customs union but also leaving completely from EU inner markets and from the EU court of justice in order to be able to keep "Polish plumber" out of UK.

You're very dumb.

Particularly concerning his unfortunate use of the phrase "polish plumber", hitherto associated with Franco-German success in torpedoing the Bolkestein Directive and rendering it virtually ineffective:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Services_in_the_Internal_Market_Directive_2006 The expression "Polish plumber" became famous during the French debate about the Directive, referring to the fear that under the Directive a Polish plumber would be able to work in France under Polish labour laws. Critics also charged that the Directive was a sign that "Anglo-Saxon" economic policy was running rampant over the EU and claimed that the Directive would inevitably lead to "social dumping" as companies and jobs were relocated to the lower-cost and less regulated economies of eastern Europe.
Curse those perfidious
"Anglo-Saxon" economic policies!

It's all part of the same racist xenophobia.

"racist xenophobia"
Bit of a tautology and not true of all "hard Brexit" supporters, but certainly enough to have swung the vote.
It's in the past now though, and it's hard to criticise a PM for carrying out the democratic wishes of the majority of those who chose to vote on the issue. It may have a big price ticket but you have to go along with the will of the people no matter how against their own long term interests it may be.
Countries are becoming more and more isolationist as is clear to see. It will not stop with the UK and the US.

Oh, really? Like which other countries are becoming more isolationist? My country, if anything, is becoming more open and more international every day.

And go where?
Scotland is no where near to meeting the EU requirements for membership...so you are suggesting Scotland leaves the UK and set up a border with England?
The real reason Sturgeon and the nationalist are up in arms is that it makes their goal of separation less likely.
Theresa May seems to be anything but delusional anyone thinking staying in the single market was an option was quite simply wrong.

And go where?
Join the EU and/or a form a union with the Nordic countries. Latter idea was already around before the last referendum.

>>13Delusional.
You simply don't know what you are talking about.
15 Name: Anonymous : 2017-01-17 20:39
>>14Explain to me how it's not possible, please.
16 Name: Anonymous : 2017-01-17 20:44
Yes certainly I will, although going by your previous contributions to this thread it wont do any good.
Scotland would not meet the requirements for EU membership, even if we did Spain would certainly block our membership to quell separatist movements in their own country. even if the other 26 remaining countries wanted Scotland to be in the EU (They don't) one country out of 26 would prevent it.
EU Membership for Scotland = Impossible in the short to medium term.
So onto the Nordic alliance...
The EU customs union prevents EU countries from forming their own trade deals...that's the kind of organisation it is...handcuffs stuff.
So in order for this great new Nordic trading union the Nordic countries would have to leave the customs union and thus the EU so give up a trading block of hundreds of millions of people to trade with a country with the population of 5 million.
Nordic Alliance = Parallel Universe stuff.
Now you can either take this on board and process it or you can punch in some statement pretending you know what you're talking about...it's up to you.
