Well, did you?

Yes. Rogue 1 may be the best Star wars movie since Empire Strikes Back. Don't get me wrong, I loved Force Awakens but Rogue 1 was a much better story. Force awakens was very similar to a New Hope but with new characters. Rogue 1 had no characters and a new story. I like don't the way it tied some things up regarding A New Hope. That's not to say it's without its problems but definitely a great movie.

I think so. It was definitely the best looking Star Wars ever made. I enjoyed TFA a lot too though so it is tough. I actually feel that they are the third and fourth best ones in some order.

Yes, definitely. It's not that I disliked TFA (way better than the prequel trilogy) but I didn't like the fact that it pretty much repeats (less well) the whole plot of ANH. It felt almost like a remake instead of a sequel.

R1 on the other hand is a lot more original and plot-driven, and visually stunning.

What TFA has in favor of it is compelling young leads and nice cameos by the old-timers (R.I.P., Carrie Fisher). But on merit alone R1 is the superior movie, and all ratings seem to agree.
