How are multiple sock accounts of individual douchebags tabulated in the voting?

I'm not sure. That's kind of the point.

Socks are identified by a few criteria:

(1) Activity on the lounge board prior to the contest. To vote for the DB of the year, they must have contributed here somewhat regularly. But that's not so simple to check.
(2) Time-stamp checks. If there's a overlap (i.e. one person posts within seconds of another person), it's safe to assume a person is not a sock. You can get around that, of course, but most don't bother. Also, people eventually have to go to sleep or work and those trends show up when you graph it out.
(3) Regularity. If you've been here for well over half a decade, we already know who you are. Simple as that.
(4) If the vote is cast as Anonymous, it's a judgement call.

This is not entirely hypothetical. I spent three of my precious precious votes on someone I could not specifically identify, who this week is going around as *CowShit*, not to be confused with the actual *CowFarts*. If that douche is in the running under another name, I would like to know.

Why am I even on that list? Half the cry babies on that thread posting for some reason couldn't leave me alone, but I get a ding for sticking up for myself.
