Alt-Right Nazis Start Star Wars Boycott

Like when MRAS boycotted TFA

Nobody cares and I predict the Star Wars movies will continue to make less money with these female leads. The FA was only riding on the waves of the originals, and your cronies got the Avatar busting numbers DEAD wrong.

"The Force Awakens" smashed heaps of records. What are you even talkin' about?
4 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-10 01:11
It didn't smash the Avatar record like all the fanboys said it would. I'm saying that The Force Awakens is the highest box office return you're gonna get from a single movie.

How did it make so much money? Star Wars isn't held in the same esteem it once was. Was it just Disney's marketing muscle?

Nostalgia.

Was it just Disney's marketing muscle?

Yes. Disney is a mega-corporation with virtually unlimited marketing muscle. But also, the fact that the movie wasn't a complete waste of time helped make it some money. It was certainly a badly plotted movie and executed very poorly by Abrams, but still my time in the movie theater wasn't completely wasted. It was at least worth the ticket price, just not a movie that I ever want to watch again.

I generally make a conscious effort to avoid anything from the Disney/Star Wars/Marvel/ESPN/ABC (and all it's many other holdings) media conglomerate. They are the worst kind of culture manipulators because when you know you are being manipulated (they force the PC right down your throat!), you know they've gone too far. If it weren't for the occasional Star Wars movie or animated series, I'd be in full boycott mode of this media company. And not because I'm a neo-Nazi! It's just that they've dumbed down their product to the lowest level of stupid.

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/herocomplex/la-et-hc-flashback-george-lucas-making-star-wars-20151206-story.html

“In a way this film was designed around toys,” Lucas says, lighting up at the subject. He may look like a brooding scientist, but the man is boyish, on one subject at least. “I actually make toys. I’m not making much for directing this movie. If I make money, it will be from the toys.”

“I don’t consider it cashing in, but I have invested in a toy company operation. Also, we’ll be involved with the largest toy company in the world. This could be very large.”

“I think of this as a movie Disney would have made when Walt Disney was alive.” Chatting while watching rushes, Lucas feels the need to explain. “I call it ‘space opera.’ That’s a genre that’s been around a long time, in the books of Burroughs and Heinlein, but never really done on film.

“What I attempted was science fiction without the science. I wanted an engaging Saturday matinee movie, but not camp or parody. And not a heavy intellectual trip like ‘2001.’ Think of this as ‘The Sting’ in outer space.”

That's about half the article.
I was afraid it would be too long & get truncated by lounge.

So Star Wars was a *beep* Disney movie all along, dude.

And what the puck you throwing PC crap out?
You had alien of all shapes, colors, forms...furry, slimy, gooey...
Technically Chewie is a brown alien. Slug bad guy Jabba.

How is that not multicultural?
Forget a planetful of humans. It's a galexy filled with very different lifeforms.

You had a kick-ass princess. First of the 3 heroes on screen, in fact.

Sorry >>8, but all this quoting is kind of confusing to any point you are trying to make. What is the point?

If it was in regard to my "forced PC: comment about the Disney media conglomerate, I would say that this is most specifically evident in what Marvel Comics is producing these days. Read the current stories in both Captain America books (Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson) written by Nick Spencer to see the blatant PC and outright intolerance (actually portrayed villainy) of conservative viewpoints. I'd say that ESPN has even gotten more political over the years and Disney itself, not longer plays to traditional moral values (the kids in all their shows are smart-asses with no strong parental figures). I'm sure Walt is rolling in his grave to see what has become of his legacy.

As for Lucas and Star Wars, I remember that Lucas always said he had 9 movies all planned out. I used to believe him, but I've come to realize that he made a damn good first movie, but then turned it into the mega franchise that it is today. When Alan Dean Foster wrote the follow up book to Star Wars called the "Splinter of the Mind's Eye", consulting with Lucas as he did so, the Star Wars future was completely different from what it evolved into. The book has long been considered out of canon. My point is that I have no problem with Star Wars from a diversity standpoint. You expect that. But I guess Lucas and now Disney have continually dumbed it down to the point where it is cliché and self parody of its own self. For this reason,I have no desire to see Rogue One. I sure I will see Episode 8, just to see it once in the theaters. I am slightly encouraged by the fact that JJ Abrams is not directing the movie. I think the guy is a total hack.

I walked away from comics in the 80s after we got frog Thor. It was anything for a buck then &it appears it's gotten worse.

That Spencer story is horrid from what I read in articles. It's not Cap.

And Jane Foster as Thor?
No.
To me it would be deeply unsettling for someone else to take my IDENTITY. I hated Beta Ray Bill & all the others, but Jane taking Thor's identity instead of becoming someone else? I know I would worry about my parent replacing me with another child.

The comicbook companies were fighting for readers in the 80s. It seems it's just gotten worse.

But Disney is more shrewd than you're giving them if you think they're mucking with Marvel. It's the golden goose-they know better than to cut it open. I see no difference between the movies made before Disney bought them & those after
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/features/marvel-studios-origin-secrets-revealed-889795
Interesting read on David Maisel's role in creating Marvel Studios' success, but how he's pretty much been erased.
He's the reason Cap didn't get licensed out.

Maisel says he had long before begun to ponder what would happen if Marvel owned its movies and could mix characters together as had been done in the comics, "so that each movie could become a lead-in to the next, and, basically, after the first movie, they're all sequels or quasi-sequels." Maisel says he was "very much inspired" by George Lucas' strategy on Star Wars: "If we could do movies similar to the box-office average of the [Marvel films] that had been released or even a haircut to those, significantly, Marvel could be worth in the billions."

Maisel says the company's focus was on licensing other characters, "the more movies, the better because there's more consumer products to sell." Soon after he started, the company was poised to license Captain America to Warner Bros. and Thor to Sony. "If I had gotten there three months, six months later, those deals would have been done," he says. "And there would be no chance to bring all these characters together." Spider-Man already was at Sony, and Iron Man had been idling at New Line. ("They thought it was a lousy property," says Maisel.) Hulk was at Universal, which had made one semi-successful film.

Perlmutter is apparently obscenely tight-fisted. He was the one pushing for the Inhuman movie & the Marvel Exec backing Trump. He has been shuffled to the tv side now so the directors seem happier on the movie side.
I suspect he was what made Whedon's time on Avengers 2 so miserable.

As for Lucas and Star Wars, I remember that Lucas always said he had 9 movies all planned out. I used to believe him, but I've come to realize that he made a damn good first movie, but then turned it into the mega franchise that it is today. I'm interested in Rogue One for the backstory we know from the original. We know a lot of people died getting those on and to the rebels, so we know the framework here.
Plus we get Mads.
His Hannibal was the Devil incarnate.

I suspect Lucas pushed the idea he had it all planned out because he didn't want to be seen as a fluke. He insisted he wrote the story out in a binder, but it hit me the same as JK Rowling & her comments about having the 7 books planned.

After the first broke into such a success there were all sorts of specials on tv & in the press on how Lucas borrowed from multiple sources. There were little things like Chewie seemed to be treated like a dog or pet, yet he was the Falcon's copilot. But he insisted it was planned & there were so many rumors & rumors of rumors flying around.

You had serious sci-first authors dismiss it as fluff so I think Lucas got defensive. When Empire came out, they could praise it to save face for dismissing THE giant movie of 1977.

I swear Mark Hamill had a very public feud with Heinlein or Asimov...one of the big names & the author praised Empire so it was a preemptive peace treaty

How did it make so much money?

Having Lucas removed from the project certainly helped... but the fact that it had Carrie, Harrison and Mark back in it definitely pushed it over the edge for sales.

The Force Awakens was a cheap imitation of the 1st movie and a terrible hack job by JJ Abrams. My son and I watch Star Wars Rebels which is still entertaining and relatively true to canon. In my opinion, Dave Filoni is the last caretaker of the true Star Wars Universe. He should have been the one plotting the direction of the sequel movies. I have no interest in Rogue One and very little interest in Star Wars Episode 8.

Alt-right is a made up term to try to paint mainstream conservatism as a extreme viewpoint, following that up with false associations to groups like Nazi's and the KKK. Sorry, but only people that are intellectually bankrupt find anything of substance there. The big reveal is that you clearly don't even know how stupid you are.

In November 2008, Paul Gottfried addressed the H. L. Mencken Club about what he called "the alternative right". In 2009, two more posts at Taki's Magazine, by Patrick J. Ford and Jack Hunter, further discussed the alternative right. The term, however, is most commonly attributed to Richard B. Spencer, president of the National Policy Institute and founder of Alternative Right

Dude, it goes way back.
Do you remember the Oklahoma Federal Building bombing?
How about Tom Metzger?
He was a local white power guy back in the 80s. Loved manipulating ignorant kids strong on passion, but short on reason.

In 1982 he left the Klan to found a new group, the White American Political Association, a group dedicated to promoting "prowhite" candidates for office. After losing the 1982 California Senate Democratic primary, Metzger abandoned the electoral route and reorganized WAPA as White American Resistance in 1983 and then to White Aryan Resistance, to reflect a more "revolutionary" stance.

He lived in Fallbrook at the time, so he made local press interviews from time to time which is where I read the bit about good soldiers not being too smart to question orders given.

My paranoid schizophrenic nephew fell into that stuff so I discovered some of the ways they addressed one another-confederate flags, "states rights", German 7's. I wear a Thor's Hammer & needed a tow a couple years back & got an earful on the ride. Guy made his own mead, attended meetings... They seem pretty desperate for connections because they speak up pretty swiftly.

They're offering a seminar I could go to for training on the Aryan gangs in the area. The activity has kicked up.

So sorry, dude.
They are out there.

Dude, it goes way back.

Wow! All the way to 2008 huh? Funny how it has only come into popular use in the past month or so. That's because it's a strategy, just an attempt to define a label for the purpose of associating conservatives with extremism's like white nationalism, with the hope that it sinks into the public consciousness. The alt-right (whatever they really are) might believe in such things as limits on immigration, retaining our distinct American identity and an opposition to political correctness, but that does not make them Nazi's (not even close). Try all you want to perpetuate your lie, but that tactic isn't working. Among other factors, Trump's victory has shown that people are getting really tired of your empty and unfounded accusations.

Dude, the Oklahoma Federal Bldg was in the 90s.

The stuff about Metzger was from the 80s.

As I said, they code it different ways.
States rights.
Confederate flags.
One guy noticed I wrote German 7's & commented-this was in the 90s. They question you in a manner to fimd ouy if you are like-minded.

Alt-right is just the latest term they're trying to use.
People know what the Aryan groups are so they're changing up.

Richard Bertrand Spencer (born May 11, 1978) is an American white nationalist, known for promoting white supremacist views. He is president of the National Policy Institute, a white nationalist think-tank, and Washington Summit Publishers, an independent publishing firm. Spencer has stated that he rejects the description of white supremacist, and describes himself as an identitarian.

Spencer and others have said that he created the term "alt-right", a term he considers a movement about white identity.

Spencer has repeatedly quoted from Nazi propaganda and spoken critically of the Jewish people, although he has denied being a neo-Nazi. Spencer and his organization drew considerable media attention in the weeks following the 2016 presidential election, where, in response to his cry "Hail Trump, hail our people, hail victory!", a number of his supporters gave the Nazi salute similar to the Sieg Heil chant used at the Nazis' mass rallies. Spencer has defended their conduct, stating that the Nazi salute was given in a spirit of "irony and exuberance"

It's a rebranding by the movement itself.

You should probably use apostrophes properly before you start calling other people stupid.

Also, since the KKK has for a while now been strong supporters of the GOP, that's not really a "false association."

If you're calling non-violent people who simply hold different views than you 'Nazis', what will you call the violent people who really will kill or rape you?

The idea that they're using the worst possible terms for people with different opinions reveals how bankrupt their ideology is.

It's akin to calling your father a nazi for getting you the wrong color car for your sweet 16.

The great irony, of course, is that an online hate group (the “alt-right”) who constantly accuses liberals of silencing free speech, often slandering them as “snowflakes” who cower in their “safe spaces,” are here trying to boycott a children’s movie over themes they deem offensive.

You can wear your little Chairmen Mao Red Army soldier cap and play dress up with your fellow clone revolutionaries in your little hidey holes, but really your just a useless brain dead tool. People were meant to be free. Not at all like you.

Just look at Luke Skywalker. Dude was such a skinhead he'd rather jump to his death than accept his dad was a black guy.

Anyway, they can have their opinion, but I was only stating facts, TFA was a rehash, not original at all. So yes, if you love unoriginal movies that are basically the same exact film as another film in the series, so be it, but don't get upset when someone calls you out for it.

I generally find movie boycotts stupid and counter-productive, regardless of the political ideology of the group doing the boycott. If you don't want to see a movie, don't see it, it's really that simple. The boycott just makes you look like a child who got your favorite toy taken away, and increases the media attention on the movie you want to fail.
