Why would the media be left-wing?
1 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-06 21:17
Conservatives are fond of saying the media is leftist. I don't get why they'd be left-wing if they're owned and run by huge corporations.
Please explain to me the logic here.

Do you want me to explain it all to you, little girl?
If so, what's in it for me?
3 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-06 21:28
It would undoubtedly be a long reply...
4 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-06 21:33
A good explanation would be long, which I am sure would be a waste of time.
5 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-06 21:40
What are you rambling about?
6 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-06 21:50
Yeah, all the huge corporations in Silicon Valley and Hollywood are sooooooooooooooooo right wing.
7 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-06 21:58
I'm just wondering how or why they would benefit from espousing left-wing views onto the public all the time.
8 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-06 22:11
They are in bed with the Dems. it all came out from wikileaks.
It's crony capitalism at its worst.
9 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-06 22:14
Actually they are in bed with corporations and whoever will help maintain the status quo and unequal distribution of income.
10 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-06 22:16
True, but the media is the most notable of the lot with Wall Street sand Silicon valley close behind.
11 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-06 22:19
But that's the Left. It's much easy to lobby government for a handout than it is to compete in the market.
12 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-06 22:42
It's much easy to lobby government for a handout than it is to compete in the market.
Corporations would know all about that.
How come no one on the right wants to talk about corporate welfare which is much more costly and much less needed/deserved?
13 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-06 22:48
To put it simply, it's the easier way to keep people divided.
14 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-07 18:02
Almost all media by definition is right wing, in that it perpetuates and helps maintain corporate power.
It creates the illusion of dissenting voices, but it's just that - an illusion.
See Chomsky's Manufacturing Consent.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHa6NflkW3Y The video is dated but still relevant and informative.

Oh you are deep, DEEEEEEEP.
16 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-07 19:32
'Media' is the plural of 'medium'. We're using media here. Not even mass media is restricted to corporate ownership now (not that it ever was, as public, cooperative, and non-profit mass media exists).

They aren't, they're centrist.
18 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-07 20:39
This is what people who get their news only from right wing sources like Breibart, Fox, and Infowars do not understand. Because they've gone so far to the right, even Fox News is starting to look a little leftist these days.
19 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-07 21:03
No they haven't gone further to the right. Our government is bigger and more powerful than ever. And the media was just exposed as colliding with Hillary.
20 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-07 21:19
That fact alone does not make the media left-wing. Sanders was left-wing, Hillary was not.
21 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-07 21:39
That's the thing - corporate elites were winning regardless of whether Hillary or Trump got in there.
They just win more now that it's Trump and his GOP handlers.
22 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-07 21:52
You really need to brush up on the political spectrum.
23 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-07 22:18
Hillary ran as a Democrat but she's really not when you look at most of her (neo-liberal globalist) pro-corporate, big police state policies. Bill was one of the best Republican president's the U.S. has ever had.
Sanders Democrats were left in a lurch when the corrupt DNC undermined Bernie's candidacy.
24 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-07 22:22
They all had Hillary winning, easily.
Explain...
25 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-08 01:45
They aren't, they're centrist.
No way. Why was "the whole world shocked" that Trump won?
I believe it's a way to divide us, but also that being 'left' is considered being 'good', which is why most actors take this road.

People forget that the media is in it for themselves and nobody else.
28 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-08 13:49
So our televisions will rise up against us?
Media isn't one thing, nor do the people involved in it think one way.
29 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-08 14:12
The MSM needs access, and slanted coverage will give it to them.
30 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-08 15:57
Exactly.
31 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-08 16:09
what do you mean when you ask why the media is in the left when its run by huge corporations ?! Are you one of those that believe if a dem is not in office we don't have jobs ?!
Where would that mean the left isn't running the media because their owned by huge corporations ?!
Thats just stupid. Was it not huge corporations that supported clinton to begin with during the election with her sudden rise in the polls during election season? Is that not why Trump has to run his own huge corporations to back his funding up for his presidency.
know the facts not your colors that match.

The media serves the establishment. Left and right wing are irrelevant.
33 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-08 16:52
Left wing, but run but owned and controlled by right wing people.
It's all ratings and reader driven. The largest population sources are in liberal cities, so it makes the most sense to focus their editorial slant to that.
34 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-08 17:06
Left wing, but run but owned and controlled by right wing people.
But that left wing part usually manifests itself on social issues, or they'll take a pro-Democrat position, but the DNC is not a leftist entity at all. It's mostly faux-left stuff in the mainstream, which gives right wing propaganda outlets cause to talk about a "liberal media". This then divides and conquers the masses, ultimately serving the right.

Oh no I agree. Their attempt at being impartial is bad too. They normalized Trump's rhetoric.
36 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-08 18:03
That's a big problem. Trump and his surrogates shouldn't be 'normalized' when they are anything but normal.
When they say and do stupid fucks they should be called on it - and not after the fact, right to their faces.
Problem is most of them only appear in friendly, stage managed photo ops where they can control the message and not face any hostile questioning. That's why Trump 'tweets' from the bowels of his Dark Tower and doesn't do any real press conferences.
We saw what happened the last two times major Trump surrogates appeared in a public forum - the big blow up between Kellyanne Conway and Clinton campaign team and Scottie Nell Hughes stating that 'facts don't matter'.
I guess facts don't matter when you live in an Owellian bubble that ignores reality and acts as if words and actions have no consequences.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0026IUP2C/A little dated but this book explains the left bias of the Mainstream Media very well.
38 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-08 18:45
The media is corporatist and globalist. A good way to promote globalism is to call anyone opposing it "racist".
39 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-08 19:22
To enable conservative talking heads to freely dabble in their conspiracy theories and fearmongering and offer junk remedies or extreme solutions. If the mainstream media is biased then why can't they be too? As you put it, the media isn't left wing for the most part. It is beholden to corporate interests. If it was anywhere close to as liberal as Faux Noise or Breitbart or any talk radio host claimed, Trump wouldn't have gotten over $2B in free advertising.

Anything remotely left of Hitler is considered left to these retarded alt Reich cock suckers.
41 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-09 02:53
Amy Schumer issued a statement that she had been making a joke. I figure none of the bigshot loudmouths will go anywhere. They have no moral integrity and don't know what it is so they can make all kinds of statements insincerely expecting no one to care that they don't mean them.

This is the new world order! Now we must bring it to leadership world wide!
