In had never heard him speak and then saw a clip the other night of him accepting an award with his ball gown and long hair etc - his voice really threw me.

Does hormones change the voice of an adult?

It should...yes. I am not sure how well it works on a man's voice though.

I don't know if it works on men becoming women unless they do exercises or have surgery. Some of them claim that the hormones do change the make voice.

Boys voices deepen as they go through puberty. Simply taking female hormones as an adult won't reverse it. There are surgeries and speaking techniques to have a female sounding voice, but it's not a sure thing.

Your vocal chords are what they are. You can manipulate them through practice but at the end of the day, without trying, you will go back to your natural voice. So unless the hormones are changing the vocal chords completely, which they aren't and can't, then Caitlyn will always have a deeper voice. Plus I might add that there are plenty of people who were born women who have deeper voices than you'd expect.

The only "transgenders" who look or sound passable are the ones who are very young, like teenagers or pre-teens. The fact that their parents allow them to make spectacles of themselves and that the media encourages it is one of the worst forms of child neglect and abuse.

I don't think he ever tried to change his voice. I think his voice stayed exactly the same and wanted it that way.
