I don't like people who collect food stamps.

This guy that I work with collects food stamps.

We have the same job. We get paid the same rate for the same job.

But he collects welfare that is equal to 1/2 months pay.

I told him it was *beep* that I was forced to feed his children.
He said "But children are expensive!"

So why is it on me to feed your kids? I don't know your kids. I don't care about your kids.

Maybe you should have thought about how you were going to feed it before you bread it.

Oh...Silly me. No need to plan ahead. Here is me with a checkbook.

*Bonus points!
The guy smokes cigarettes like a chimney.
So he buys cigarettes while I feed his worthless kids.

Thank you for sharing your real-life example of welfare gone beserk. Liberals consider themselves compassionate, but I always claimed that taxing a janitor to pay for a drug addict's food is the opposite of compassion.

truth.

Why do grown people say "veggies"?

Nobody says "meaties" or "drinkies".

Why don't you get food stamps, if you're in a class the politicians have determined to be worthy of them? Don't you get tax returns?

long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away....

I met a woman. I was 23, she was 19. she lived at home with her parents who "charged her rent", had a 1 year old daughter, collected welfare and food subsidies and a few other programs available at the time. I inquired what she was doing, because she had a "job". she was being paid cash at a daycare. her check from the system went to pay her 4 store credit cards that she continually shopped with at the mall. the food stamps were being used by her mother, who had her ID.

her entire justification was that she was "doing everything she could to make her life better".

seemed to me like gaming the system.

I hope you're not in the US, because we haven't had welfare here for 20 years, and there never was such a thing as food stamps.

To be honest, your story that varies from accusing your alleged co-worker of being a philatelist to then being on "welfare" is squirrely.

I don't think children in this country should go hungry all because their parents (for whatever reason) can't afford it. There are a lot of families out there one paycheck or one food stamp away from living out on the streets. I do not think more homelessness is the solution to a "better" country.

then you wouldn't like israeli's

The economic situation of families in Israel is declining rapidly, according to a cross-comparison of Central Bureau of Statistics data and Social Affairs Ministry reports. About 28% of Israeli families sought help from welfare bureaus in 2011 – marking an increase of 20% from 2009 and about 75% from 1998.

Why are you guys still using the term "food stamps"? Stamps are no longer involved in any way, shape, or form.

It makes you guys sound stupid.

EBT/food stamps...does it really matter? You know what it is referring to.
11 Name: Anonymous : 2016-01-31 18:50
You know what it is referring to.

Yep. It refers to another unverifiable, "true life" experience that is most likely a product of someone's imagination.

Isn't it EBT?

You need to change the way people think.
Right now you get married & have kids.
Heaven forbid you practice family planning/birth control. That's what Planned Parrnthood is all about & everyone on the right knows that's evil.

Every time I hear someone with a story about "this guy I know who collects foods stamps," I pretty dismiss it as a fib.

The alternative is starving children and parents so desperate they will shoot you in the head for food. Then we're paying more for police and corrections. It's got to be paid no matter what. EBT is cost savings, and every dollar spent on it improves local economies better than any other economic stimulus. This is why people smarter than you are in charge.

Why not? It sounds like a harmless hobby...

Cool story that never happened, bro.

I agree that that sucks...welfare cases that smoke.

Consider if it was here. Cigs cost over $20 for the cheapest brand pack of 30 or 40..you still see obvious broke-ass trailer trash with kids smoking...

is collecting food stamps still classed as Philately, btw ?
19 Name: Anonymous : 2016-02-01 02:02
There's no food stamps. It's been changed to an EBT card which looks like a debit card. That removes the stigma of food stamps. The system is still being gamed. An illegal immigrant was recently arrested in MA for DWI. She had multiple EBT cards and drove a Cadillac. She also had the nerve to taunt the arresting officer for not being as smart as she was in gaming the system. However, this is a small price to pay for the benefits that a welfare system brings to the Democratic Party. I have no stats to back it up, but I'm sure no one getting welfare or working to administer they system votes Republican.

what is it with immigrants scamming the system..

here it is with disabled parking stickers, even...you have all these phoney stickers, or else, the sticker is good, but it is being shared around to family members who are young and able bodied...a reporter show did an investigative on that here...everyone they caught scamming those stickers, had a Greek name...

Why can't they just do the right thing, for a novelty.
