Could you really put to death a death row inmate?

Sometimes I'll see comments in other places about a crime and someone may write, "I'd kill him myself if I had the chance."
But I wonder just how serious a keyboard warrior is about that?
Do you think that you really could be the executioner of prisoners who very well could be innocent and is helpless?
Sure, you may really hate the guy but pushing that button is still killing him and killing is wrong. One killing does not justify another.
With that in mind, do you really think you could still do it?

I've pondered this many, many times...

Take that prisoner and send him to death.
With a strong grip extinguish his breath.
Feed him poison mushrooms till his kidneys froth.
Strangle him with the dirty stained table cloth.

Yeah, but what is your answer?
I think they have a poetry message board around here somewhere.

I do not agree with your premise that all killing is wrong.

I couldn't kill in cold blood.
Self-defense/heat of the moment is different. However to take time to consider your actions, to know that you tarnish yourself with the memory of a calculated death of another is something I couldn't do.
So because I couldn't do it I wouldn't wish for someoen else to do it, hence I couldn't support capital punishment (along with other important reasons).
