As such: black people are more likely to turn to crime in order to survive, which has the net result that their are a lot of black criminals in America, which further results in white people being more likely to convict a black man accused of a crime because they'll automatically assume he's guilty.

I disagree. I'd say that most people in prison did commit crimes. Having others not going to prison doesn't change that one way or another. The real issue is what drove them to crime and whether many of their actions should be considered crime in the first place.
