White privilege. Incident #17374837277373827276362

I was at a Starbucks working on my novel when a rather athletic-looking white man entered, with his toddler son, and proceeded to order various drinks, including a chocolate lollipop for the boy.

The baristas prepared his drinks while he sat with his son. He then stated that he needed a box of hot chocolate as well. The young barista got that for him as well.

He walked outside with over $50 worth of drinks and LEFT. No one said a word at first. One of the baristas commented, "did he pay?"
The others just looked dumbfounded.

He returned 10 minutes later, not to pay, but to complain they got one of his drinks wrong. He wanted soy, not regular milk(eye roll). The barista pointed out that hey never ring him up for his order. He was shocked and insisted that he paid already. The barista asked him to scan his phone so she could see the history. Finally, he mumbled something about his kid driving now him nuts and paid.

What other race would have gotten away with this shit. After he left, a Spanish dude sitting near looked at me and smiled. He said, "if one of us had done that, they would have had the police up in here faster than we could say our names."

We both laughed.

So he walked out due to the employees being inattentive, and then they made him pay when he came back. What did he get away with? Arguing for a minute?

Did you expect him to be shot? Did anyone originally request payment and he refused but was given his order anyway, because white people get everything for free?

Nice speculation on what is probably a made-up story anyway.

Or maybe he was a conman.

What should the response have been?

They could have rang up the sale as they do for all the no white customers.

I don't think the mistake had anything to do with his race. Now there might have been a different response to someone who wasn't white walking out without paying, but that's another issue.

I refer to all Spanish speaking people as "Spanish."

When a see a Latina with a big ass I wanna bone, I refer to her as "that Spanish chick with the big ass I want to bone."

Problem?
