JJ Abrams Will Destroy Star Wars Just Like Star Trek.

Now I will say that the 2009 movie of "Star Trek" was a lot of fun and that it was good, but it did not feel like a Star Trek movie. There was no logic, no "trek", no anything that made it feel like the series or movies.
Then came Into Darkness, which was a mess. OMG. How that movie got so many good reviews is beyond me. That movie was no good!
Watch JJ do that with these movies. He always said he did not like Star Wars and would never even consider doing it, but he did. This one looks good, but watch how bad the next one will be, and you all will still eat it up because you're all sheep. SMH

Apparently the next one won't be directed or written by JJ Abrams.

Star Wars sucks because George Lucas sucks and JJ Abrams is bad for Star Trek and made the last film suck, Now Star Wars VII sucks because JJ killed the Lucas story.

I will never understand why some online bashed Into Darkness, it was well reviewed and well loved by most who watched it, its funny I had to come online before realizing how much some people disliked it.

Because it wasn't a Star Trek film. They just used the title and characters and made an action packed movie, everything Star Trek wasn't.

It was Star Trek that he said he didn't like.
7 Name: Anonymous : 2015-12-16 22:48
..it was George Lucas, when he made the prequels.
The only way is up from there.

Have to agree, there.
However JJ is certainly NOT the one to be able to revive it.
.
The only way is up from there.
That's in question. Although it will probably be a better shallow action series than most of the prequel was. Lucas doesn't do "deep" very well. The one saying grace is that while JJ seems to think he is "deep" in a way, he buries it in enough action that people just looking for action don't care.

Some people cannot stand change. They want what was dear in their memory to stay there, never changing.
They fail to understand
Make new friends but keep the old
For one is silver, the other gold.
I enjoy the Star Trek movies.
I watched the original series as a child in the 60s.
I have loved Thor since I was 5 or 6. I was horrified Marvel would ruin my childhood hero, but the movie embodied the wonderful, noble qualities of my childhood hero.
I saw Star Wars when I was 17 in 1977.
I look forward to the new film.

Ahem. You just described Abrams, who is himself a Star Wars fan.

It's just a watered down duplication of the old one.

Um...
Was Star Trek a watered down version of the old one?
No...it was the exact opposite...a ramped-up version of the old one.

I think what he meant to say, that the new Star Wars, is pretty much a rehashed New Hope. Masking the shortcomings of the film with feelings of nostalgia.
Judging from the reactions of few people that already seen it, that's seems to be the case.

I kind of got that. I'm not expecting a MacBeth-level narrative from this movie, because that's not what Star Wars has even been about. It's always been a straight good vs evil morality story.
With laser swords and spaceships....

Agreed. But there are lots of way of telling that sort of story without trying to rehash the original.
Empire Strikes Back is different from A New Hope, it's usually considered the best of the original trilogy and it's still a straight good vs evil morality story with a little more nuance.
I haven't seen the film yet, so maybe I'm wrong but that's what I got from early reviews.

Yeah, it's not like I'll be rushing out to see it opening day or anything...I don't want to be anywhere near a movie theater this weekend.
I'm just willing to give it a fair shot. Abrams has a decent track record of making popular eye-candy.
Then came Into Darkness
Which was still infinitely superior to either Phantom Menace or Attack of the Clones, and probably edges Revenge of the Sith as well.
No, Star Trek elitists hated it because they like to pretend that a series of movies and tv shows where people transport around and shoot ray beams at each other and time travel is somehow "cerebral", but it was a successful crowd pleaser, which is what Star Wars has always supposed to be.
If anything, based on his record, Abrams will revitalize Star Wars and make it culturally relevant again.

I don't know about that, Spock's "Khaaaannnnn!" line was even more cringeworthy than Jar-Jar.

Maybe, but it was still a better presented line than ANYTHING Hayden Christensen said....

Did Jabba the Hutt rape Leia? I've always wondered.
20 Name: Anonymous : 2015-12-17 00:01
Could be worse. Could fall back into the hands of Lucas.
21 Name: Anonymous : 2015-12-17 00:03
Wah.
No one is making you go see it.

Yeah, let's listen to Trump cock sucker you! Stick with Kirk Cameron propaganda, son.

Let's see it before rushing to judgement.
