People thought it was a bomb. The boy never claimed it was a bomb. It was the most brilliant hoax ever.

The boy's first period teacher told him not to show his "clock" to anyone else in the school that day, because they could see it as a threatening device.

Ahmed went on to show the clock to lots of teachers and students.

It wasn't until his 6th period class that Ahmed realized he wasn't getting the negative reaction his father told him to get. So he intentionally made the clock start beeping by plugging it in. The teacher asked him what it was. Metal case, wires everywhere, beeping. Many reports have confirmed that Ahmed was "vague" at this point. He wouldn't explain why he made the clock and why he brought it to class.

Regardless of whether or not anyone thought it was legitimately a bomb...Ahmed was reported for building a FAKE BOMB. To incite negative attention. This is why the office was called. And it's their protocol to call the cops next, thus: Ahmed getting arrested.

Let's not forget the fact that 3 months prior to this, Ahmed's sister was suspended for threatening to blow up the school.

And Ahmed's father ran for president of Syria three times and he is a total nutjob who rambled on about religious things on Youtube.

The whole family is a bunch of attention-whores.

And this whole "clock bomb" incident took place a few days after 9/11.

I asked a lot of questions about this picture when the story first broke, because a lot of people said Ahmed's civil rights were abused by getting arrested and not having his parents notified right away, and he was questioned without his parents of a lawyer present.

So Ahmed was arrested and his parents weren't there.

So who took this picture? I couldn't imagine it's standard protocol for the police to take candid pictures like this of minors and then sell them to the media.

Some reports have claimed that this picture was taken after the whole incident with the police, and when Ahmed's father and sister showed up, Ahmed's father ASKED the cops to cuff him again so his sister could take a picture of him.
