Because Trump isn't afraid to speak out about just about anything and everything he says is usually a load of crap but highly entertaining and amusing to the public and journalists that we give him votes on the poll because we wanna see what other kind of crap he can come up with. But there's no way he's getting the nomination.

I think there is a very good chance that Trump will win the GOP nomination.

There is no indication his supporters are just "humoring" him. His support has shown to be durable, passionate, and genuine.

Remember, in 2012, Mitt Romney was nicknamed Mr. 22% (this was prior to the 47% comments he made), because he had a durable core of support around 22%. This was ultimately good enough to win the nomination, because toward as nomination gets going, that support snowballs. And Trump usually polls higher than this.

Trump is looking very much like Romney 2012.
