I consider myself a liberal on most things except law and order and terrorism. What baffles me is the way so much of the left are obsessed with defending an ideology that goes against liberal values. You'd think liberals would want to defend gay rights and women's rights but they actually defend a death cult whose text clearly instructs its followers to treat women as possessions and to kill gays and non-muslims.

I don't know what it's like in the States but in the UK the left are an absolutely disgraceful bunch who spend most of their time defending islam and calling jihadist terrorists freedom fighters. I've come to the conclusion that the British left are clinically insane.

I'm pretty sure the only people who call terrorists "freedom fighters" are terrorists.

Funny cuz here in the states, it's the conservatives who defend them. In fact, they want us to put soldiers back on the ground in Iraq to defend a country that is 96% muslim. Putting soldiers on the ground means soldiers will die. But cons are ok with that. Just dont mention Obamacare around them, cuz nothing angers them more than making sure poor Americans can afford to see a doctor.

If you are a muslim in America, cons feel you shouldnt have any rights and anyone who defends their right to practice their religion gets accused of 'loving jihadists' for some stupid reason, yet if you are a muslim in Iraq, those same accusers will send other Americans (NEVER themselves) to die for you.

You find similar things in fundamentalist Christianity as well. 99% of muslims aren't going to do any of that.

We don't love jihadists, we just don't hate muslims. That doesn't mean we love everything they believe, but they have a right to do it, and we see the hypocrisy of the right and Christians here to deny them that. They complain about muslims being here, or that a mosque shouldn't be allowed, and then turn around and raise hell because the christmas cups at Starbucks are just red!

My statement stands, that the book that your Religion is based on does exactly what the OP says and that's a fact. What Christianity represents is completely irrelevant and at best is a moral equivilancy arguement.

Links? I live in the UK and whilst I see defence of Muslims who are just going about their business I have yet to see anyone (on the left or otherwise) calling jihadists freedom fighters.
