Hey /lounge/ i had a thought

What happens when you die? i mean is it just a case of eternal darkness? Forever waiting for the wake up that just doesn't come? Just try and imagine non existence /lounge/ (protip: you can't) also i don't give a fuck out religion-fags so atheist answers only plz.

Nothing "disapears" in the Universe, so when you die, your soul that basicly is just energy, gets back to the "big whole thing" and is free, not longer bond to your pathetic body.

Exactly like you just described. A case of eternal darkness.

so what are we just a sentiant ball of mass for eternity? or do we leech on to a more powerful brain?

When you die its like turning off a computer, one minute it is calculating things, the next it inst.

The whole Universe (or maybe even Multiverse) is full of energy, so you basicly a part of it after you die.

not darkness, nothingness. You simply cease - no conscious, no thought, no feeling, no sense of the lights turning off.

Or you climb a white cloud and meet and old man with a flowing beard or half man half goat with a burning fork and spend the rest of eternity skipping through fields of daisies or on fire

No evidence either way, so I'd go with the skipping through fields of daisies option

I used to be really freaked out by the thought of eternal darkness after death because it was so incomprehensible to not have my conscious or to be able to think or feel anything. But I came to terms with that when I figured that I'm not really going to care or know either way because I'm going to be dead so I won't be thinking anyways, so it won't matter. Lately now I'm come to believe that since we're full of energy that it will transfer and not just die off and be nothing, and I will live again someday maybe.

how can you just cease to exist i mean as >>2 stated nothing disapears i just find it impossible to imagine non-consciousness

first of all Check'd and second that was my point exactly how does one not exist even water when it "disapears" it dosnt, it reforms into gas maybe humans do the same - obviously not into gas but you know what i mean.

The Problem is that people cant believe, and also dont know, how energy feels something like heat or cold. How does energy see a asteroid?
14 Name: Anonymous : 2015-10-22 15:21
>>10 Yeah that's what I figured. Energy can't be destroyed, only transferred and I think when humans die, their bodies decompose, create plant life, animals eat it, then other animals eat those animals, and so on and so forth, until that energy become transferred to become it's own being with it's own body, pretty much anywhere energy becomes transferred. I agree with this guy, >>2 except I'm skeptical that we have souls because we can't really prove it, but we don't prove against it either. but sometimes I like to think people and maybe animals have souls because I kind of see humanity and morality as synonymous with a "soul."

"Soul" is just a try of menkind to describe the energy that powers you neurons etc. Its easier to talk about it if you got a word for it. A "Soul" has only indirect affect of humanity and morality if you would ask me.

I love how modern atheists are so blinded by our current models that they are consistently capable of condescending to other POVs all the while describing their own beliefs using concepts from an unbelievably narrow and naive context as if they had everything figured out.

You're so wrapped around reductionist materialism, you don't realize that it's just a way to model things. I bet this is the first time you've heard the term.

It's like the scientific community in 1800's London, where they marveled in their own brilliance and had a consensus that 'pretty much everything has been figured out'.

I never told what it is. I'm sorry you guys (or perhaps just one) are functionally illiterate.

I'm saying you're no different from Christians; you've simply the Bible with The God Delusion, and now roam the Internet mindlessly parroting the bullshit your preacher told you. You would've understood this from the post you replied to, weren't you fucking retarded.

Maybe the Bible copied us and inserted god?
The Universe exists longer than the Bible.
