I'm a Christian and I challenge all atheist to a respectful and intellectual debate on the fallacies of atheism. I will be in this thread giving out my rebuttal until the very end, Let's begin shall we?

>>1 How about this:
1. if the Bible would be true, there would be evidence for the Flood
2. there is no evidence for the Flood
C: therefore the Bible isn't true

>>5mfw there are records of continuous civilizations pre-dating the flood that were unaffected by the imaginary flood.
mfw the church tried their hardest to prevent people from deciphering hieroglyphs so that the church wouldn't be questioned
mfw everyone in the church is a pedophile

What's up man? My question is why would you lovingly worship a God who is genocidal throughout the entire Old Testament, seemingly killing whole civilizations on a whim?

>>7Not a Christian, but this question applies a bit more for Jews. But to answer from a Christian's perspective, something along the lines of: "Jesus taught God forgiveness."

>>8No, that doesn't add up. that would mean that God wasn't all-knowing before Jesus. Who is the same person btw.

My reasons to be an atheist, although I respect believers. Even that, I wish heaven were true and I could find there all the people I've lost:
1st - There are so many religions, so many gods. And some of them share the same facts, that leads me to believe it's a man's invention to answer many questions.
2nd - Maybe science makes no sense for you, but they've got tons of proof, and religion also relies on facts but doesn't got nothing to prove, instead they have to change to stay legit and adapt science. Also science admits that can go wrong and corrects itself to seek truth. I don't need religion to be a good person, but I do need science for almost everything, and if there's something that cannot be explained yet, just you wait.
3rd - There's a powerful sentence from me as a kid, I was raised as christian but my mother always let me think and choose what I wanted to. When I said to my mother I had major doubts about God was real, She said to me She was atheist. Then I've though... wow, if She's a nice person but no christian will go to hell? If She's good and God is how it must be, She'll go to heaven anyway, and if you are Christian and bad won't, so who cares what anyone's believe. I still think this way.
4th - To be fair, with all the shit you can see here on /lounge/ all the people that thanks god for the goods, should blame thy also for the bads, either way would be hypocrite.

What is death like for atheists? Believing that once you die, you're gone forever. How do you cope with that?
